Bromley were humiliated again by lower league opposition, and this time it was at home. The Minerva League side richly deserved their win with some resolute defending in the second half. The only goal of the game came on 40mins when Harwood was unable to stop Eden’s shot despite getting two hands on the ball. The Ravens had started brightly and Jjunju looked lively, but with Bartley ineligible there was no other striker available to partner him, neither Nicholas in the first or Hughes in the second half provided any threat. The midfield was non-existent and despite dozens of opportunities provided by set pieces, they were all wasted. Even Harwood came of for a series of corners in the last 5mins, but the closest chance of the lot came when a Hoddesdon defender hit the post with a clearing header!
For the second game running a mad bunch of kids appeared behind the goal, it’s believed they may be one of the youth teams.
