MOLESEY 3 BROMLEY 0 - LEAGUE 30/11/04
Stop me if you’ve read this before! Bromley had about 80% possession, but failed to take their chances and ended up letting in three second half goals against one of the worst teams in the league.
The game started brightly with Huggins having a header cleared off the line. Walker made one good save, but it was Bromley who were on top although they continued to over play when in possession and over complicate things. Huggins had another header saved, but despite Molesey looking like a pub side, you still had the feeling they might score on the break. Just before the half, the Moles should have had a penalty, but the trip in the box was waved away.
Bromley started the second half brightly enough. Rose had an effort blocked, Henriques managed to head over when it looked like Huggins flicked effort was going in from a corner and then Rose had a cross shot tipped over by Garrard. Paul Kember was taken off for debutant Labadie, taking away any bite in midfield. The keeper pulled off another good save from Henriques, before Moelsey broke up the other end and taught us how to finish. Mark Frampton crashed home a half volley on 67 mins and it was 1-0! The home side then pushed on and went close again before Rhodes made it 2-0 on 75 mins, punishing more lacklustre defending. Williams went close and then on 89 mins Molesey made it 3-0 as the Bromley fans walked away in disgust. The Moles had two more chances to score in injury time and as the game ended Bromley’s over paid primadonnas were greeted with the sight of a completely deserted away end.
