BROMLEY 1 GRAVESEND & NORTHFLEET 4 – FRIENDLY 31/07/01

The Ravens competed well for the first hour of this game, against their opponents from a higher division, but then after Forbes and Bowen were substituted they fell away badly and conceded three quick goals.

Bromley started with a 4-4-2 formation for the first time and matched Gravesend until Harwood was caught out and lobbed after 29mins by Stodhart. Myatt hit the equaliser just before the half, latching on to a loose ball in the box. The game had been evenly contested with Kirk Watts surprisingly partnering Tommo up front! Bowen & Forbes were in great form and their early departure signalled the second half collapse. Gravesend looked strong at the back and very solid in midfield, it was no surprise they did so well last season with this team.
