The one and only 7” from Sunderland’s Stokoe and it’s an absolute corker. Stokoe feature Golly and Dickie from the late, great HDQ. What we have here is three glorious tracks of Hooten 3 Car-esque melodic punk rock – the best being “Satellite” which has the most heartbreaking sounding ending I’ve heard in years with the harmonious calls of “Do you remember…..?” The other tracks are great too. “Simon” also appears on The Jones album Gravity Blues which also features Golly and Dickie in the line-up. The version that appears here feels rawer and is better I have to say. “Give It Back” is the most introspective sounding track to me and is the least memorable. Top-notch vocals as ever though.
