Fantastic 7” from the South London Clash copyists… or so I’m told. I’ve never really listened to the Clash to be honest – am I still allowed in the “scene”? ;-) I remember coming back from Brighton with Dan (vocals / guitar) and Sean Rugger Bugger once and Dan was playing stuff like the Lambrettas on the car stereo. He couldn’t believe I’d never heard of half the music he was talking about. But despite not knowing the influences I really like this record. Side A is the stronger of the two featuring the twin blasts of “This Is A High” and “9 To Life”. All four songs on this 7” are available on the Wide Eyes and Nonsense album and it’ll be great a new ‘tone album proper later this year (hopefully!).
