An EP of some fresh new songs is in the works. The plan is to get it out by August or September. It'll have about 5 songs, most likely. More info later. For now get drunk like me. Pardon.

6/6/04
We finally got some mp3s up, thanks to our good pal Sammy, who generously donated her own webspace to house our big fucking Evil Olive files. Check out the new and improved music section to listen to WWIII, Poor Joe, Eggshells and Savage Antics, and open up those little lyrics pages to learn how to sing along, too! Kick-ass!

That CD release show for Evil Olive last week was loads of fun! Pizza My Heart wouldn't let us use their electricity because of a misunderstanding, so we moved the show to The Jungle - The Hip New Place To Be! It's one of those printing-company-gone-punk-venue places, you know. There should be random pictures surfacing from the internet's oblivion eventually, and we'll post them up and thank the corresponding people for taking them.
If you have not gotten your copy yet, Susie and Will have plenty they would just love to sell to you, so give us a hoot and/or a hollar. Either call (650)771-2597, (650)759-0907, or e-mail contactafinemess@yahoo.com and you will have it delivered to wherever your current location in the country is, using our official global positioning system we found in the Oracle dumpster. It's that easy.
In other news, we have some neat plans for the summer, like shows and parties and mixers and ballroom socials, another release, drugs, and a special-edition DVD including all of the fondest memories of AFM past.
Also, if anyone would be so kind as to get us informed of a place on the internet where we would be able to keep some of our Evil Olive mp3s for download on this site, we will give you a gift!
Lastly, we would like to give a big warm "THANKS!" to The Jungle for their last-minute hospitality and accomodation.
"It scared my mom!"

Ilya subbed for Susie again for the Carlmont Battle put on by Live105, and he did a lovely job. Thanks, Ilya! We'll keep you in our prayers.
Don't miss the Evil Olive release we've been talking about for the past six months, it's this Friday, May 28th, at Lytton Plaza.
"Lytton Plaza? Who, or what, is that!?"
Lytton plaza is here. Right by Pizza My Heart on University Ave. in Palo Alto.
"Uggh! But I don't wanna pay like $5 fuckin dollars to see some show. That's my tampon money."
Don't worry, little lady! The show is free, and you'll still have plenty of dinero for your...unmentionables.
"Oh, that's rockin! Cuz I just had my period really bad, and I was all 'Oh, I gotta buy tampons' and like then I couldn't go to your show."
All right then!

The Evil Olive CD Release Show last Friday was probably one of the most memorable nights of everyone's lives that was there. There were fireworks, laser lights, skydivers dressed in drag, orgies in the bushes, and so many drugs you wouldn't have been able not to get high, even if you were just walking by across the street two blocks away.
Fortunately for all those who missed it, we will be recreating the occassion on Friday May 28th, same time same place. Bring your coupon for your Evil Olive record, and if you haven't got one bring your $5.
4/30/04
Tonight we split our set with One or 2 Words (as in switching off after every song) in fear of getting shut down by the Palo Alto police department before o2w got to play. It turned out to be a rollicking good romp anyway, and a warm "thanks!" goes out to all who were able to make it.
In case you are disappointed that you missed it, however, hopefully you'll read this in time to find out that we're also playing again tomorrow in the afternoon, at around 2:30pm, at the Riekes Center in Redwood City. Check shows section for details and directions.
4/27/04
New show! We're gonna be playing Carlmont High School's Battle of the Bands on May 22. It starts in the wee hours of the morning, at 11am, check shows section for details and directions.

EVIL OLIVE ISSUE #45
Evil Olive vs. Businessman

"Now Jimmy, you know better than to play with your food.."

"What... what is that?!"

"Noooooooooooo!!"
After almost half a year of recording and re-recording and mixing and re-mixing, we finally finished our first full record. It is currently being duplicated by diskfaktory.com in Irvine, and will be here in three weeks. There'll be a free record release show Friday, May 14th, at Lytton Plaza in Palo Alto. For now...
New show! ...we're playing at Lytton Plaza this Friday, and the Riekes Center in Redwood City this Saturday in the afternoon, check the shows section for directions.
4/12/04
We'll be playing the Battle of the Bands at Menlo-Atherton High School this Friday at 6:30pm. Will is south of the border with his family so there will be a mysterious figure filling in for him.
Check the shows section for directions and details.
2/29/04
Thanks to all who came to either NCK shows last Friday and Saturday nights, fun times were had by all.
We had an intentionally short and experimental set on Saturday, considering there was under three hours for five bands, and did things like newborn prototypes, Blink-182 and a reggae version of This Place.
For now, you can see us play again next Saturday afternoon at San Carlos High School with One or 2 Words, None Of The Above, The Incarnation and a bunch more. Check shows section for info.
Apart from that show, we'll simply be taking time to prepare for something Evil ...
2/28/04
Last night's show can only be described as jocund, and if you didn't go to it, 8 out of 10 dentists reccommend you go tonight.
2/22/04
Another New Show!
We're playing NCK for a second night in a row, Saturday, February 28, and so are the kids called One or 2 Words. More info in the shows section!
2/20/04
2 New Shows!
We're playing NCK again this Friday, February 27 at 8pm. It's not free, free-free, or even "free" (like last time) so bring $5. The show and a throng of game competitions are going to be filmed by the Channel 4 news program and broadcast live, or something. So bring a crazy hat!
Also, we'll be playing at San Carlos High School on Saturday, March 6 at 2pm with One or 2 Words and The Incarnation (FKA The Lesser Evil). $2 for that shindig. Check out the shows section for all specific info.
2/5/04
California Uber Alles 2, the sequel punk compilation to the one put out last fall will contain two AFM tracks - WWIII and Poor Joe. Thank One or 2 Words for organizing this glorious CD!
Recording Update: Recording is finished. CD duplication, cover printation, advertization, much masturbation and ejaculation will be taking place over the next few weeks. CD release show will be scheduled soon - if you want to play it, or know of a cool place to have it at, contact us!
1/24/04
Our trip to Marin was brief, but we had a good time. Second time playing our new untitled song - lyrics and all that will materialize soon.
Recording Update: The latest versions of Blood + Sweat and Poor Joe have been burned on CDs and handed out to some people. Contact us if you want one for free.
1/24/04
Thanks to all who came to NCK last nite, even though it wasn't free after all. Tonight we are in Marin, playing with Selective Amnesia at their "birthday bash."
1/19/04
New Show! We're playing a free show at NCK in San Mateo this friday December 23rd. It's free, it'll start around 8pm or so, and it's free. Shows section for directions and stuff.
"It's near like everyone that lives from Belmont to San Mateo and it's free, I don't know why anyone wouldn't be there, unless they're having sex or something."
1/5/04
The music section has been added to.
Recording Update: All the bass and drums tracks have been finished, and five songs are pretty much fully done. Guitars, vocals, and everything else will be recorded and mixed throughout this week and should be done pretty soon.
1/1/04
If you weren't at Josh's party you should've been, it was great fun, and a great show.
We played I Love Jesus, WWIII, This Place Gives Me The Creeps, 2 covers with Ilya from One or 2 Words on drums - Tsunami Bomb's "Take The Reins" and Sublime's "Same In The End," Porno Song, Poor Joe, Savage Antics, and Blood & Sweat.
Recording Update: We've finished a good five songs now, and we're preparing to compile a couple for a free promo to give out and to put up for download here. We'll continue with some hardcore rapid recording over the next week.
12/30/03
Thanks to all who came to the Villa show early enough to see us open, it was a party, or as the kids say these days, a "partay."
New Year's Eve is coming up very quickly... don't have anything in particular planned? We reccommend you check out Josh Hansen's 3rd annual New Year's party in the Belmont hills. It starts at 5, and over ten bands are playing. It will be very large, loud, free, and therefore worth at least a stop-by. Check out the shows section for directions and details.
12/25/03
Good news! We will be playing the Villa show this Sunday December 28th after all! Should be a great show, so you better go. Shows section for info.
12/23/03
There's a chance we'll be playing the show this Saturday at The Villa after all, hopefully we'll know for sure soon. But for now, there are more important things to fuss over, like soil erosion and ozone depletion.
But in other news, we're going to start working on new songs, seeing as we've pretty much finished playing the last of our shows for the year of two-thousand and three. We've got some fascinating ideas to work with so far, so be excited!
Recording Update: We've got four songs almost completed. The goal is to have the whole album done by the end of Christmas break, and so far it looks probable.
12/14/03
Gadzooks! Everything was fine until just this morning... apparently being a few tickets short was not, in fact, enough to be eligible to play the Slim's Battle today (it would've been nice if they had informed us of this on Tuesday). D'oh!
But not to worry! Due to a greater-than-expected number of tickets sold by all the bands, there will be a continuational show in January, and we will most likely be playing in it, along with One or 2 Words. More info on that later.
For now, rock out with us this Saturday in Redwood City! Lots and lots of other local bands will be playing, check out the shows section for details on that.
Oh yeah, we also now have a mailing list, so if you'd like to be automatically updated with news and upcoming shows and the like just sign up in the shows section!
12/10/03
Correction: We'll be playing between 8:30 and 9:30pm this Sunday at the Slim's battle. Sadly, One or 2 Words isn't playing this Sunday anymore, but they will be playing a continuational show for this event in January sometime.
12/8/03 A belated Happy Birthday to our friend Ilya!
2 New Shows! Well, we got kicked out of the Villa show on the 27th due to "overbooking," but it's A-ok, because we've got another show this Saturday at The Vibe and also one on Saturday, December 20th! Check out the shows section. We'll be selling tickets at The Vibe again, so if you haven't gotten them yet, that will be the last chance! Though, of course, you could still call or e-mail before then.
Last Saturday night at the Vibe we played a pretty short, but really fun set. Ilya from One or 2 Words played drums and Susie sang during the cover of Tsunami Bomb's "Take The Reins." Pleasant!
12/1/03
3 New Shows! We got two new shows coming up in December, one on the 27th (Saturday) in Mountain View and one on New Year's Eve, at a bitchin' party in Belmont. We also got a show in January at the Vibe on the 24th. We'll be playing with some awesome bands, check out the shows section for all the details on those!
Bring your $13 to the show at the Vibe this Saturday to get your Slim's tickets from us! We'll be giving out free merch to all who buy tickets!
Recording Update: We're finishing up the three songs that we're gonna be giving out to all who buy tickets from us. They'll be done by the show this Saturday.
11/14/03
New Show! We'll be playing (and selling Slim's tickets) at the Vibe in Foster City on Saturday December 6th with Tragedy Andy, and others! Check out the shows section for more info.
In other news, recording is progressing well. Currently, we are still perfecting the sounds of the bass and guitar, and once we have those set we'll be able to record the rest of the songs more quickly. We'll definetly have promos ready to give out by the Vibe show, though!
11/9/03
Yesterday at the Riekes Center we played nearly ever song we have, minus Blood & Sweat, and three covers: the usual Lemonade by Tsunami Bomb, the new Tourette's by Nirvana, and the old Hate To Say I Told You So by The Hives.
After the show, we went to The Project Studio in Sunnyvale and recorded the drum tracks for 12 of our songs. Quite an exhausting day...
On Monday we'll return to The Project Studio to finish off the final drum mixes, then we'll record the rest of the songs soon afterward. We'll hopefully have a finished album ready to sell at the Battle of the Bands at Slim's on December 14. Check out the shows section for info on that show!
11/4/03
New Show! Big things will be happening in the near future! Firstly, we're playing another Battle of the Bands performance at Slim's in the city on Sunday December 14th with our pals Selective Amnesia and Dead End Dogs. Secondly, Saturday night after the Redwood City show we'll finally start recording our long-delayed first album with The Project Studios.
Missed the Lytton show last Saturday night? Go to next saturday's show, we're playing with One or Two Words and Joy's Panic!
11/1/03
Tonight we played Food, My Obsession, a new song that doesn't have
a name yet, Blood + Sweat, Porno Song, WWIII, Savage Antics, Eggshells
and This Place Gives Me The Creeps. It was a fun show, sorry to
all who didn't make it and thanks to all who did. Also, we put up some old pictures, check out the pics section.
10/30/03
We got a working guestbook now, so go sign it and leave a nice little
message for the world to read. Also, don't miss our show in Palo
Alto this saturday night!
10/28/03
Here's the new layout for the site. It's still majorly under construction,
so bear with us for the next few days. For now, check out the upcoming
shows in the shows section!
10/24/03
Check out the article about us in the latest issue of SF Weekly, pg. 17!
Also, our guestbook was apparently a trial version and just expired, so it'll be temporarily unavailable until we find another one. For now, write down your message on a piece of paper, put it under your pillow at night, and make a wish.
10/16/03
New Show! Already another show, on Saturday November 8, a week after the post-Halloween show at Lytton. Also with One or 2 Words and Joy's Panic. Details in the shows section.
10/5/03
Last night we performed Porno Song, Food, Time Travel, My Obsession (first time live ever), This Place Gives Me The Creeps, WWIII, and Savage Antics. One or 2 Words won the $50 grand prize, and Days of Contraband and us both got runner-up, so expect more shows at The Oasis in the future.
9/16/03
The old pics we had a long time ago are back up here, check out the pictures section.
9/14/03
Last night we played I Love Jesus, Savage Antics, This Place Gives Me The Creeps, Food (John's guitar broke here and he had to borrow one from One or 2 Words), Porno Song, WWIII, Eggshells, and Blood + Sweat. We didn't play Poor Joe like we'd planned, but it was still a fascinating, interesting, eventful and thought-provoking night.
