Edwin O'Neill was a pioneer in methods of scientific detection in law enforcement in the 1930's and a longtime professor at the University of California at Berkley. Qualifications: Preparing for a career in an investigative branch of law enforcement at the federal, state or county level of government
Currently an Allan Hancock College student or a past graduate of Allan Hancock College with an A.S. or A.A. degree (current students must petition for graduations in Spring 2005)
Planning to transfer to or currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a law enforcement related major at an accredited college or university
Examples of appropriate degrees: BA or BS in criminal justice, criminal justice administration, international criminal justice administration, criminology, forensic science, security administration, of law enforcement.
Excluded degrees/programs: BA or BS in sociology, corrections, probation, parole or non-investigative work in law enforcement
Amount: $10,000 Scholarship - disbursed equally over two years
