Commander) Background - Geordi was born blind and he wore a visor which could see imaginary protection beams and hidden doorways. When the Enterprise-D was destroyed, his visor was the cause of it so he stopped using and had eye implants that could do the same thing as the visor. While on the Ba'ku home planet, he optic nerves regenerated and created real eyes for him, he was finally able to see like normal humans. He's also deals with Data where there's a malfunction.
