Summer Camp, July 5-11, 2009
2009July.JPG Camp Beaumont: Aspen Glen: The troop lucked out with a dry week this year, allowing for more opportunities to work on advancement. One scout completed his mile swim despite visiting the med-center the night before. Another aquatic achievement was reached during instructional swim, when another scout made swimmer. Special thanks goes to our three leaders that made it possible by staying the entire week, and cooking various delicacies on site.
Memorial Day May 25, 2009
We did our annual movement of the chairs (storage to front lawn and back). The Plain Dealer had an article on Parma South's Memorial Day observance beginning 141 years ago. Once again this year we had our Cub Scouts helping us with the work, Thank You! It was a good day not too hot/cold, & the chairs did not sink into the lawn. 2009MayMemDay.JPG
Campout May 15-17, 2009
2009May.JPG Camp Beaumont: Chestnut: Hey, who forgot the tents? Oh, that's right its make your own shelter weekend. Most of the tarp shelters held up to the light afternoon rain. Plus the array of food by the patrols was most interesting!

missing 2009March.jpg Camp Stigwandish: Had a cabin but most of the scouts decided to sleep outside for a Polar Bear Camp. The hike was uphill both ways, and we crossed creeks.
Feb 6-8, 2009 Pioneer Klondike
The troop camped at Camp Manatoc in the Vale Edge Cabin. We had 2 patrols in the competition. There was snow on the ground, but it was melting all weekend.
Dec 2008 Lock In
We helped serve a dinner at the church. Once cleanup was complete it was time for fun & games, and of course food. Little sleep was had, but we had a good time.
A Cool Campout Nov 14-15, 2008
Our troop decided to go to Punderson State Park to camp. We were going to go to Beaumont, but they road repairs in camp. On Friday when we arrived the weather was fine until around 1 a.m.! Everyone was surprised that the tents were not leaking all night and day! When everyone got up two tents were in a puddle! We made a delicious breakfast with peppers, onions, eggs, and a side of hashbrowns. We cleaned up and went on a hike. Since it was muddy in the grass we hiked the side of the road. We did walk on a path that was very muddy! After a few hours hiking we got back to the camp. For lunch we had a couple peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with chips. When we were done we found out we were leaving after supper, due to dropping temperatures. Everyone was disappointed. Before supper we watched the fire and retired two American Flags. We made a Dutch oven pizza. We cleaned up, packed all of our stuff, and loaded it into the cars. We had fun at Punderson State Park! -- Paul G
Oct 12, 2008
Took time out from selling popcorn to help with a water/Ultima station for the 17th Annual Towpath Marathon. We then took a short hike on the Plateau Trail. Was the 200ft elevation change all on one hill? Thanks to all that helped.
The Great weekend of September 19-21, 2008
This weekend we went Camping in Brecksville, Ohio. It was for our annual fall Camporee, with other local Boy Scout Troops. We had a great time doing fun activities the district set up for us! We were in the race first place over all the troops! But unfortunately we didn't get first place this year. It was a lot of fun! On Sunday about 1 A.M. (the second 1 o'clock in a day, mabe the first depending on how you look at it) you could hear all of the animals outside looking for a snack. But it was still fun when we had a glow stick fight in the field next to all of our tents. During the closing campfire, we all had fun doing a skit. The best of them all was someone we call Banjo Guy! He plays the banjo really well. We can't wait until next year! --by Paul G
July 18-19, 2008 American Cancer Society Relay for Life

July 6-12, 2008 Beaumont Summer Camp
A week of summer camp always builds memories this one was no exception! The weather was dry except for 1 day. The cooking was done on site, a big thank you to the leader that made this possible.
A huge thank you to the leaders that stayed with the scouts for the week.
June 21-28, 2008 Crew trip to Tinnerman Canoe Base in Canada
A crew of 8 left from the bus station at 8:30 p.m. to leave for the canoe base. We arrived at the Hungry Bear at 6:30 a.m. in Canada (near Hartley Bay Marina). After a buffet breakfast, we headed to the marina where we boarded boats to go to the canoe base. After a refreshing dip in the water for a swim recheck in 55°F water, and an overview of our route, we prepared to set out on our week long trek. We loaded up the canoes with all our gear, and dehydrated food. We were on the river through Friday, when the guides left us for a night on our own. The next day, we found our way back to the base where we feasted on spaghetti. The next day we loaded up the boats and returned to the marina. We road the bus back, and returned at about 9:00 p.m.

May 17, 2008 Hike May 17-18, 2008 Camp
One if by land two if by sea? Yes its true. We went to Findley State Park. One group did a day hike, while our Tinnerman 2008 crew did an overnight. Both groups had issues staying upright & dry!
April 4-6, 2008
The weekend at Camp Beaumont was cold, but with enough hot chocolate we were able to get through. While the younger scouts toured the camp and worked on advancement, the older scouts did a little hiking and remembered what it was like when they were tenderfoots. Saturday we had a warming fire, and did some gourmet cooking in plastic bags.
Thank You leaders that stayed the weekend!
Feb 29-March 1, 2008
What a weekend! Fri night was a Fish Dinner at the Chartering organization. It looks like the dinner was popular. The dinner started at 5pm, with the last of the Scouts leaving, after cleanup, close to 9pm.
After going home for a quick nap, it was back to the church at 4:45AM (yes there are two 4:45s in a day).   We made a quick drive to the USAF Museum in Dayton. We got there just before it opened at 9am. We signed up for the presidential hanger tour and were on the 1st bus of the day. We experienced the museum in small groups until 3pm before making the drive back to the church.
Thank You Drivers!
