It's here! The new GC accounting and trading system began today. If you haven't looked at the plan yet, I suggest you do so ASAP! It's at: http://www.oocities.org/gcwebsite/accounts/accountnew.html, and it's really fairly simple.

In a nutshell, each room leader is given a one-time amount of gold, plus a monthly shipment of goods. It's up to the room leader to take care of his/her people however they want. Each room must buy 10 units (two of which are food) of goods AND sell 10 units of goods each month. If they don't, the room leader gets fined.

In addition, all goods delivered must travel through the wilds, as must all gold received or else the transaction doesn't count.

Rooms are free to do whatever they want to accomplish their goals. They will set their own prices for their goods. They can hijack shipments as they move across the wilds instead of buying them, rob those carrying the payments, even kidnap and hold for ransom those who venture out into the wilds.

We're even allowing people to register an alias to use during their nefarious deeds (like "Cloaked," "Masked Robber,", etc.). Only registered aliases will be counted and those names are listed on the front page of the GC Website ( http://www.oocities.org/gcwebsite). Any injuries taken by the alias must be assumed by the real person.

Built into the system are ways for people to increase the number of units they have for sale. Private enterprise is encouraged. It doesn't matter who buys from whom, and some rooms may find that the other rooms have already filled their quotas for the months and are not interested in goods. By the same token, rooms can consume their goods instead of selling them.

The idea is to provide as much variation as you wish to do. Room leaders can tax their people or give them a free ride. One room could try to take over the entire economic system. Some rooms may make trade agreements to ensure their safety. Other rooms may have to hire escorts from other rooms to get them safely across the wilds.

It is a free market out there, and the strongest, smartest and craftiest are the ones who will do well. Just like in the real world!
