hazine started off serving in a tavern in Koroba. One night, the tavern was set afire and she was kidnapped and sold to Kassar.

"she remembers many things that night and day of travel on the plains of Turia," hazine said. "The taste of capture scent was strong on my lips and my breath when i awoke to face large fierce men, laughing and grinning at me speaking a language i didn't understand. They took me to a camp hooded, to which hazine knows now to be Kassar. she has served here ever since."

That was four years ago. Since then, hazine not only has learned the Kassar language, but made quite an impact on the camp.

"she was a bit shy at first," hazine said, "as she was lowest to all girls there. If it had not have been for the first girl, phedra, training her, correcting her properly (and quite often she might add), and overall understanding, i dont think the adjustment would have been as easy.

"But with everyone's patience, and everyone's consistent effort to ensure all in camp were Kassar, she learned the language and ways. It was a hard adjustment at first to learn their ways, but that didn't really last long because the slaves were very helpful and very demanding that i know how to please these men. i wanted more than anything to be pleasing to them. i learned fast and well."

she started out as a camp girl, but she managed to catch the eye of then-Ubar KNIGHTRANGER. Soon, he had placed his personal collar around her neck ("this one was so excited!"), and there it has stayed since. So much does KR think of hazine, that he eventually made her first girl of camp. she held that position until KR stepped down as Ubar.

Some first girls have a hard time, letting their "power" go to their heads or finding themselves unable to stem the jealousies of their sisters. Not hazine. she had that rare knack of being able to correct her sisters without stirring their ire, of keeping the friendships she had, and of keeping her Master happy.

"she didnt get a powertrip," hazine said of becoming first girl. "It is not something her Master likes, nor does hazine. In fact, she had to be more resourceful to help them.

"If it changed anything," hazine added, "it changed the fact i had to be 'more' hungry. i had to strive for perfection more so now than ever cause if i failed to do this, the other girls could very well fall into her footsteps, and i would get the blame for not correcting them properly, not demanding what her Master expects."

One thing hazine never forgets that the number on her collar is given at her Master's pleasure, as is the very collar itself.

"Any girl could have easily even taken her place," hazine said. "But, she felt like this all the while in his kolar, as he was Ubar to Kassar. It is something any slave must know. they must know how easily replaced one can become in a flash! her relationship with her sisters stayed the same.

Asked what one trait every first girl need, hazine responds, "What a question!"

Still, being the good slave she is, she ponders the question for a bit, and then says, "There are many things a first girl must be and must learn.

"But the one thing that keeps hazine on her toes is the fact that everything she does is out of love to one person -- her Master. He commands, she obeys. No matter what, if she lives by this, everything else falls into place. i guess this goes for any slave, really, but when you are first girl, you have to answer to him directly. There is no trainer to answer to, there is no first girl to answer to. It is your owner you must answer to and not all slaves realize this. As first girl, you must!"

Over the years, hazine has come to love Kassar Camp. "she isnt confined in a building or a city. she gets to see the sunrise and set every day and night," hazine says with a shy little smile. "she gets to see the beautiful lands and feel one with it as much as she can and is allowed to! i get to dance under the open skies and the glowing moons and stars or kneel along the furs with Kassar men and Kassar women and my sisters!"

Among her favorite experiences, she said, was when her sister phedra gave her a key that unlocked a small cabin on the island in the lake by Kassar.

"It wasn't anything fancy but she had built it herself. it allowed her to have the chance to share something on the island with other slaves, as it was hers to share," hazine said. "But she passed it on to me. she gave me a feeling of love in sisterhood i had not understood until that moment."

Another of her favorite times was when "phedra confided to a girl she was with child of our Master, long ago. i can still remember that conversation!"

But hazine's favorite time in Kassar was when she received KR's collar, something she cherishes above all else..

And what would this little slave do if her Master gave her a choice between being Free and a slave?

"im already free!" she says. "slave, slave, slave, slave. girl will beg to stay slave!!"
