Animals of Gor

by Dalanar

This is an excerpt taking from an interview with Bruik's shahar by myself in Turia on Gorchat.

shahar to Dalanar: You wanted to see Huggy Master *petting his lil head*

Dalanar to shahar: *nods and smiles warmly* Aye, darlin, I plan on writing about the hith in My next article....so I would like to see "Huggy" and also have you tell Me some about him

shahar to Dalanar: *hurries towards You, stepping up the dais stairs and kneeling down before You...the tail of the greenish hith dangling over the girls breasts, its head up against her neck* shahar will tell You all she can Master

Dalanar to shahar: *My steel blue eyes look over the constrictor....having heard of the hith before, yet never seen on* What does it eat, darlin?

shahar to Dalanar: Well Master, so far shahar's been feedin Huggy small urts and rodents...boot urts are his favorite *giggles* Hes just a baby still so it dont take much to feed him

Dalanar to shahar: *nods...calling a guard to Me and sending Him to find an Urt...perhaps down in the sewers...turning back to you He leaves* I have heard rumors of their size, so from what you say, it must be true...can you guess how big he will grow to be?

shahar to Dalanar: *wiggles happily on her knees, thinkin she wont have to feed Huggy this day...cuddling the silky snake in her arms and looking at it* from what shahar has seen itll get anywhere from 20 to 30 urthen foot long and big round as a tree...in the jungles of course...this one was found in a larma tree in the Turian Gardens and im thinkin he must be a baby caust he aint quite yet the terrible jungle monster they grow to be *giggles*

Dalanar to shahar: *chuckles and gets taken back slightly* So....do you have any idea how Huggy may have ended up in a tree in one of our gardens?

shahar to Dalanar: im thinkin a Merchant was bringin him through and he escaped...sure were in the tropics but there aint no trees and jungles for lotsa pasangs from Turia

Dalanar to shahar: *nods* Oh, aye...We are a plains city to be sure *chuckles softly* Come to think of it...some of the merchants have been doing business to the south....it may also be that the baby hith climbed into the merchant wagon, mayhaps smelling the good he carried and mistaking it for food....hand Huggy to Me, sha...I would like to see him closer

shahar to Dalanar: *unwinds the hiths pretty tail from round her throat, several times, giggling and lookin up to You* Sure am glad theres a kolar round my neck *laughs and lifts the coiled snake up to You, its lil forked tongue taisting the air*

Dalanar observing the hith: *feels the snake curing about My arm....recalling all that I had learned when studing the ways of the plains long ago....the hith is obviously a young one...the deepness of his colors tell Me as much...his teeth bite against Me...his youth and his species, constrictor and not vipor, make the bites little more the a nusance. His coils as big as My arm is around, so yes, this will grow to be a most impressive python...one that may even grow to size enough to hunt humans. I could also tell, by his activity, partly do to the warmth of the day, but also do to the fact that he was hungry. Since snakes normally go into a dormate state after eating, this hith was ready for dinner....thankfully he would not have to wait much longer, for I saw the door to the main open as the guard returned from his task*

Dalanar observing the hith: I place the hith down on the floor before Me as the guard releases the urt. A smaller variety of the species, this urt moves quite quickly, sensing the hith and its danger. The hith does move quicker though...stricking in fearful vilocity...his mouth hitting the rodent as coils bury it...the sounds of bones cracking can be heard muffled by the mass of the hith

Dalanar observing the hith: Huggy streches out...his coils relaxing and falling back...his head lifting and tilting as his jaw dislocates. The urt slowly worked back by the musclar movement...being sallowed whole.

Nort to Dalanar: and he was in need of food eh?

shahar to Huggy: *whispers as Huggy eats* his jaw hinges and detaches to swaller stuff whole! and then it just goes back together

Yeah Master, He aint been fed in days

Nort observing the hith: *watches the small urt going to the belly of the hilth as it gets full*

Dalanar to shahar: Watches as the urt is swallowed...huggy crawling up in a ray of sunlight to relax and digest. His excitment now abated by the hunt, the kill, and the feast. Turning to you and smiling softly* Thank you shahar, that was most helpful. you and huggy are released from My service.

shahar observing the hith: *points to the fat bulge* That stays there all day *giggles*

shahar to Dalanar: Yes Master Ubar, anytime *winking a silvery eye at You and picking Huggy up from the sunbeam, cradelin him in her arms, takin him to the aquarium Master told her to get*

shahar observing the Hith: *BOL* In the snake i mean

Dalanar to Elany: *winces before turning to You, realizing My mistake in all of that, then smiling softly as I look to You*

shahar observing the hith: *settles a stuffed Huggy into the aquarium...small flat pebbles lining the bottom, rocks and cactusses too...she pushes it into the sun and leaves the chambers, stepping back out into the Hall*

Dalanar to self: *thinks to Myself in after thought...I'm really glad that Huggy went for the urt and not for the baby larl cub chained in place*

After dark, various serpents seek out the road for its warmth, its stones retaining the sun's heat longer than the surrounding countryside. One such serpent was the huge, many-banded Gorean python, the hith. One to be feared even more perhaps was the tiny ost, a venomous, brilliantly orange reptile little more than a foot in length, whose bite spelled an excruciating death within seconds. (Outlaw of Gor, pg 26)

In another case, somnolent and swollen, I saw a rare golden hith, a Gorean python whose body, even when unfed, it would be difficult for a full-grown man to encircle with his arms." (Priest Kings of Gor, pg 191)
