Never Let You Go
Chapter 2
By: Bella

"Ahhhhhh!" exclaimed Sadie. "I don't have anything to wear!"

Cole, Melissa, and Brandon sat in a row on her bed patiently while she tore at everything in her closet and threw it around her room like a madwoman. Their parents weren't home, but promised to return and take over with the kids in time for her to go to the party.

"Let's start with what goes underneath first," Cole said. Sadie raised her eyebrows and looked curiously at her 10-year-old cousin. "Your swimsuit, duh."

"Oh," Sadie said, relieved. "He didn't say anything about swimming."

"They have the nicest pool on the street over there. You might as well bring it, just in case," Melissa chimed in. "Someone's always swimming over there when they have parties." Brandon nodded.

"How do you know?" Sadie asked.

"You can see their yard from Brandon's room. Only part of it, because of the trees blocking of course, but well enough to tell when part of the pool is being occupied. You can hear splashing and yelling, too," said Cole.

"So are you guys going to be spying on their party tonight?"

"Yes," Melissa answered honestly.

"Okay," Sadie said with a laugh as she dug through her dresser drawers to find her bathing suits. "Which one?" she asked, laying out two.

People had already started arriving, but Benji was busy getting ready in his room. He finally came out and scanned the house. Mostly familiar faces. After exchanging casual "hellos" with some of his old friends, he made his way into the kitchen and got something to drink. From the kitchen window he spotted Sadie outside, chatting with his band mates Paul and Chris, and his friend Hayden's girlfriend, Mindy.

"Hey guys," he said, coming over to them. He noticed Sadie had alcohol and although he didn't know exactly what her age was, he knew she wasn't 21. "Good thing she's not driving home," he thought.

"Benji!" he heard his best friend Tony, from Mest, shout across the yard before he even had gotten the chance to enter the conversation. He wildly ran up to them and tackled Benji. Soon he was dragging Benji away and into the house.

Sadie watched a little shocked, but then giggled. She was a little uncomfortable not being around Benji, since he was the only one she actually knew a little bit about. But she was happy to be meeting new people, and even if they weren't exactly from the area they at least came by once in a while which meant she might get to see them again.

Once in the house, Tony threw Benji down into a chair and took his seat across from him. A small crowd gathered around the table. They knew the routine. "Drink! Drink!"

---

Still in the yard, Sadie was enjoying talking with Chris, Paul, and Mindy. She had hardly even tasted much alcohol before, but found herself downing her whole cup during conversation. She felt a little more relaxed. Politely excusing herself for a moment, she went back inside to get another drink. She spotted Joel doing the same.

"That's weird. I thought he was wearing all of his piercings earlier," she thought to herself, assuming that it was Benji. Joel was wearing a baseball cap and a long sleeved shirt and since she couldn't tell that his arms weren't covered in tattoos, he looked just like Benji to her. She didn't know that Benji was in another room.

"Hey you," she said playfully, suddenly feeling a little more confident than usual.

"Uh, hey," Joel responded awkwardly.

"I'm having a great time. Thanks for inviting me," she said smiling before drinking some more.

"Uh, yeah, no problem," he said confused but not feeling like getting into it any further. Suddenly he felt his girlfriend Tasha's arms wrap around him. He spun around and kissed her.

Sadie's eyes widened and she just stood there watching them for a moment. She felt stupid. They eventually wandered off and she couldn't help but feel crushed. Not only was she disappointed, but she was also getting tipsy which only made her even more emotional. She added more to her drink and went back outside.

She couldn't talk anymore. She couldn't concentrate. She kept seeing Joel, aka "Benji," and Tasha kissing in her head, like a movie that kept rewinding and playing over again. After a few more sips of her drink, she decided it was enough of the alcohol.

She excused herself from the conversation once again and stumbled back into the house. "Someone's had a little too much to drink," the others laughed, noticing her stumbling and the fact that as time went on she became a little more "out of it."

Sadie threw her drink away and made her way through the house looking for a bathroom. Every door downstairs was either locked or opened to a closet, so she went upstairs to try her luck. She tried opening more door, but still no more luck. She finally came to the last one and started to open it, but just as she did it opened and Benji stood on the other side.

"Sadie!" he exclaimed, overly excited. He had beat Tony in the drinking competition and was now very drunk.

"Did you change your clothes again?" she asked, saying the first thing that came to mind. "How did he get all of his piercings back in so fast? This is the third outfit I've seen him wear tonight. Either he's playing tricks on me or the alcohol is really starting to get to me," she thought.

"No!" he shouted. "But I sure can!"

With that, he pulled her into his room and closed the door. He walked across his room, through the master bathroom, and disappeared into his large closet. "What the hell?" she said, confused, and followed after him. He had shed clothing along the way and stood in his closet in his boxers.

"What to wear, what to wear?"

"Oh God," she said, seeing him in his boxers. She suddenly became embarrassed.

"He has a girlfriend!" she thought to herself. "She would be pissed if she walked in right now."

She started to walk, or stumble, out of the room but Benji heard and came back out.

"Don't go!" he protested.

"I don't want to upset your girlfriend or anything."

"What girlfriend?"

"That girl you were kissing earlier," she said, still replaying it over and over in her head.

"You must've had more to drink than I did, because I didn't kiss anyone tonight," Benji said with a laugh.

"Yes you did!" exclaimed Sadie. "Really skinny, dark brown hair, pink shirt."

"Tasha. That's Joel's girlfriend," Benji said. "Joel is my brother."

"Oh," she said, becoming embarrassed. She was a bit relieved though.

"We're twins. Identical." He came closer to her until she was pinned against the door. She didn't mind though.

"I wouldn't kiss her. There's only one person I'd want to kiss at this party," he said, slurring a bit.

"Oh?" was all she could say, smiling.

He nodded and leaned in and kissed her. Before either of them knew it, they were engaged in an all out make-out session. Benji was still in his boxers. He removed Sadie's shirt and noticed a multi-colored polka dotted bikini top. He stopped kissing her and looked.

She looked down and giggled. "My cousins' idea."

"Swimming! That sounds fun right about now. Wait, I have a better idea," he said, going back into the bathroom and turning on the bathtub. Sadie laid back on his bed, spreading her arms and legs and listening to the running water. She had never done anything like this before. Her head was spinning, but she didn't care.

He came over and pulled her up. They went into the bathroom and the bathtub was filled with water and bubbles.

"Ooh!" she exclaimed, like a little kid. She quickly undid her studded belt and pulled down her jean skirt so that she was in just her bathing suit and got into the bathtub. Benji followed.

They resumed kissing. She laid back with her back against the tub and Benji over her. Her head was still spinning and nausea was overtaking her. Suddenly she sat up, knocking Benji back. She covered her mouth with her hand.

"Oh fuck, I think I'm gonna be sick!"
