Chapter 2

"Your a what?!" He sounded shocked, yet doubtful.
"I know it sounds obsured, but it's true..the night we met, Zekial and I were running from a slayer.. He'd found our clan meeting place and killed everyone there. We were at the park when it happened and got there less than 20 minutes after it happened. My sister..His brother.. Everyone but the two of us..gone..Almost an entire clan.." My words came out so quickly I had no time to think about what I was saying.
"So you two came here to..?" I could tell he still doubted it.
"Find new clan members." If Zek knew I was telling a mortal about us, he would personally hand me over to the nearest slayer.
"Leina..I still don't believe you.." He stuffed his hands in his hoodie.
" I didn't wanna do this.." I grabbed his hand, sending shivers through his body. "Just relax.. I won't hurt you.." I leaned down and kissed his wrist, right above his veins. The scent of it sent me over the edge and I pulled myself away from his wrist as I felt the lust enveloping me. I turned to him and smiled, actually showing my sharp white fangs.
He gasped and scooted away a little. "Shit.."
I hushed him, pressing my index finger to his lips. "I said I wouldn't hurt you.."
He relaxed a little. "So vampires are real then.."
I nodded, the lust still at a high. "But each clan has different traits. However, all clans share one thing.. Only the blood lust will actually show our fangs. We can walk around and looks exactly like you..And since the development of tanning beds, alot of female vampires have taken to them to keep from looking like me..Pale and lifeless." I growled quietly. "Sorry...It's the lust.."
He nodded. "Your not gonna bite me or anything are you?"
I shook my head. "My clan doesn't feed without the consent of the donor, and we never take alot unless we're converting a person and accepting them into the clan."
"Just out of curiousity, what's it like to be bitten?" He scooted closer to me.
I laughed a little. "Painful at first, but it's like a drug.. You get a rush..And some even get addicted, but the next day you're pretty tired..God where's Zek when I need him.." I rubbed my eyes, my vision blurring slightly.
"How long has it been since your last..meal..if thats what you like to call it.."
I thought about it for a minute. "Two days.. Our usual donors all left town after the heard about the club being raided.."
He seemed nervous. "Well um..if you're really really in need I could maybe donate a little."
I shook my head. "You need your energy. I think I'll be okay.." I felt dizzy. Whoa.. Thre's two Billy's. "Zek.." It was the last thing I said before I blacked out.
(Billy's POV)
Shit shit shit. She just blacked out, what am I supposed to do?! I paniced and looked around the empty park.Nobody..Empty. A bush across from us moved and a figure stepped out from behind it. Her friend from the club..Zek? He dashed to Leina.
He glared at me. "What happened to her?"
I shook my head, studdering a bit. "She..she just blacked out.."
He glanced at my wrist. " Listen, I know she told you about us..And I heard everything you two said, we vampires have excellent hearing, so if you wanna save her.." He took out a silver knife with carvings on the handle. and pointed to my wrist with it, glancing at me questioningly.
I gulped and nodded. He seemed to soften as he pricked my wrist with the tip of the blade and moved it to Leina's mouth. Almost as a natural reflex, she clamped her fangs into my wrist. It hurt like a mother fucker at first.. But her tounge dancing aloung my skin with her light sucking was, like she said, a rush. I felt like I was free of everything in those few seconds..Free from life, and seeing the world as she saw it. She removed herself from my wrist, her eyes fluttering open. I pulled my wrist into my sleeve, pressing down on it with the sleeve..
Her gaze drifted from Zek to me to the ground. "Zek..I'm sorry.."
(Leina's POV)
Billy was holding his wrist..I'm gonna kill Zek for letting him do it.. "Zek? Did he..?"
Zek nodded. "But I asked.. You were damn near about to die..agian" He laughed.
I pushed myself off the bench, damn near full of energy. "Hey Billy, we should get you back to the club before someone starts to suspect I kidnapped you." I grinned mischeviously.
He grinned and took out a pen and peice of paper. He wrote down something and handed it to me. "Keep in touch. I must say your one of the most exciting fans I've ever met."
I turned to Zek. "Did you get us a room?" He nodded. "Okay well we're gonna walk with him back to the club..Is that okay?" I had been getting a little timid around Zek since Shiva wasn't there to stand up for me.
He sighed and led the way back to the club. I have no idea how he knew where it was..maybe he had followed me? Who knows.. Billy and I talked to whole way back..
"So how old are you really?" He took the pyramid bracelet off one wrist and put it on the wrist I had bitten.
I didn't even have to think about it. " I turned 94 three weeks ago.. New Years Day.."
"And Zek..?"
"224.. He's like my older brother. Always takes care of me, even more so with Shiva and Luke gone.." I glanced at Billy.
He had been watching me the entire time. "You were right about being bitten..It was amazing."
I smiled. We had reached the club and Billy's bandmates were pacing around outside the club, Joel talking 90 miles a minute on his cell.
As soon as he saw us he hung up and rushed towards Billy. "Man where the fuck did you go?!"
Billy shrugged. "We went to the park to talk..And met up with Leina's friend Zek.."
Benji, Paul and Chris had joined Joel. Benji raised a brow. "And you talked for an hour and a half? Jeez.."
I cleared my throat. "We were talking about something and just lost track of time.."
They seemed content with our excuse and excused themselves to the bus.
"Seeya." Billy pulled me into a hug. he leaned down to my ear, his voice dropping to a whisper. "It was fun, call me when you get the chance."
I nodded and hugged him in return. He said goodbye to Zek, who also nodded in return, and climbed onto the bus.
Zek snaked his arm around my waist and kissed the top of my head, him being taller than me, as soon as we were a few blocks away. "So I take it you made a new friend."
I nodded and smiled, leaning into him. "Yeah.."
"You know..He'd be good for the clan.." He led me up two flights of wodden stairs, stopped infront of the third door to the left, and unlocked to door, dropping his arm from my waist.
"Zek..No. He's got a good life going. Just leave him alone.." I followed him into the grungy hotel room. Zek had taken it upon himself to put thick black curtians over the windows, and set our small suitcases in the corner of the room. He'd covered the mirror in the bathroom with a towel, and set my eyeliner and eyeshadow on the counter.
I changed into a pair of black flannel pants and a black whifebeater and climbed into the single bed, Zek soon following me in matcing pants and wifebeater. For a vampire, Zek had quite a good build.. Over the years he'd aquired several exercise machines and spent alot of him time working out in the basement of our tiny apartment back in Los Angeles. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him. It wasn't a romantic thing..Just brotherly comfort. (AN: yes they do sleep!)

It's been a week since I saw Billy in San Fancisco. We're back in Los Angeles now, with four new clan members. We've even moved to a house, big enough to house all six of us. As traditional each new member's name was replaced with a name chosen by the clan leader, Zek. Our clan leader before the raid was Dracon, one of Dracula himself's original children. He had given me the name Leina because he said I reminded him of his wife, Reina, and because he saw how well I defended myself in such a cruel world.
Today was the day Zek was going to choose their new names. The four of them sat down on the old couch in our 'living room'. Zek pointed to the first one, Hannah. She was 18 with long blue hair, fairly tan skin, and an eyebrow ring, lip ring, four earrings in each ear, a nose ring, and three tattoo's. He crossed his arms. "Aurora Lynian." He implied our clan name as her last name, Lynian.
He moved on to the second one, Josh. He was 25 with pale skin and ear length black hair, he sported a lip ring and earrings. "Seth Lynian."
Zek moved to the third, Megan. She was 21 with sholder length blonde hair streaked with pink, and she had an eyebrow ring, and six earrings in each ear.She had pale skin, and she reminded me of Shiva. "Trinity Lynian."
He stood infront of the last of the four, Tyler. He was 23 with short brown hair with green tips. He had fairly tan skin and an eyebrow ring, lip ring, and earrings. " Gabriel Lynian."
I must admit, Zek had good choices in names. "I'm gonna go make a call, I'll be back in 20 minutes." They nodded and I walked out the door. We didn't keep a phone in the house and my cell didn't work inside, so I had to go outside to get a good signal. I punched in Billy's number and hit the ok button. One ring. Two rings. Three rings. " Hello?"
"Billy, It's Leina."
"Oh hey, how's things going?" I heard a few voices in the background. "Everybody says hey."
"Well tell them I said hey." I laughed a bit. "Anyway, everythings going good.. We have four new friends."
"Oh..You mean..?"
"Yeah..Aurora, Trinity, Seth, and Gabriel."
"Cool. So when are you gonna come to another show?"
"Where are you guys now?"
"We're near D.C.. We got a week off so everyone decided to come back home."
"Oh..thats cool."
"Yeah..hey I can get you guys tickets if you wanna fly over here.."
"Billy, use your head! Airplanes..Sunlight.."
"Oh right.. Well I could fly over there?"
"Don't you wanna be at home though?"
"Nah, not really..It's pretty boring."
"Well, call me tomorrow if you decide to..Gotta go."
"Seeya Lei!"
"Lei?! Nobody ever called me Lei before.."
He laughed. "Well it'll be my special nickname for you."
"Whatever..Bye."
"Bye Lei!" I hit the end call button and stuffed my cell back in my pocket. It was quiet outside. Stars shining down on me, reminding me that I would be here longer than they would.. I sighed and walked back into the house, past everyone in the living room and down the long hallway to the master bedroom, which Zek and I shared. There were six other bedrooms in the house, but Aurora and Trinity shared the room next to ours and Seth and Gabriel were next to them.
I changed into my normal pajamas and climbed inbetween the heavy black silk sheets. Comfort. Within minutes Zek came in and told me everyone else was going to bed. He changed into his pajamas and climbed into the bed. I curled up agianst his chest and fell into a dreamless sleep.
