Although the design isnt final this gives us a glimps at the GAMECUBE Version of the N64 controller pack named digicard.
Nintendo seems to have abondonded the use of controller based ports and turned to a system like that of Playstation. The Digicard stores 4Mbits (about half a megabyte) flash memory. Thats twice the size of the controller pak.  Why nintendo decieded to use such low capacity memory storage cards is a bit strange.
especially when the compition offers much higher density memory cards. Chances are that the digicard will cost less and perform better. How quickly the Digicard writes is unknown, but Nintendo promises that it's "highly efficient for playing games." The Digicard is thought to be made by Macronix, the company who currently supplies Nintendo with its ROM memory for the N64.
