Plot: In order to become a god, La Encantadora attempts to help Ra's al Ghul unify himself with the spirit of the Earth, until Talia and Superman show up.

Some people would think it peachy to live forever, but Ra's isn't one of them. He's not just satisfied with being immortal; he wants to become a true god. Kelly uses Talia's recent defiance of her father (as seen in the anniversary issue of Detective Comics #750) to not only stop Ra's' ascension into omnipotence, but to put herself in a similarly powerful position. Regular Batman and Superman readers will find it delightfully crazy that the Demon's Daughter echoes her father's own words at the conclusion of this tale, betraying him to the utmost degree, to accept a position which will undoubtedly cause more tension between herself and Batman in the near future.

Though Superman's not one to lie, he feeds on some of those negative vibes from Talia, and fools the innocent Encantadora. She wants nothing more than to live with her younger brother in peace, and she'll do anything, even help Ra's slaughter billions, just so her brother is spared any hardship.

Captives, remember this: when you're locked up in a cell with a madman, the key to freedom lies in jabbing a priceless ballpoint pen into the guy's hand. He won't scream out in pain, giving you the brief opportunity to run. He'll just smile like he does with Lois, and say, "Off you go, and thank you for permanently injuring me!"
