Lee Ann Womack

When Vince Gill introduced a young woman on a country music awards show a few years back, he noted that she was someone we needed a lot more of. He was referring to the traditional style of her music, and her refreshingly country voice, which surfaced in the middle of the burgeoning popularity of hot new country tunes. Vince was talking about Lee Ann Womack.

Lee Ann's music consists of three albums so far: her self-titled debut, followed by Some Things I Know, and I Hope You Dance. Though the title track to her latest album achieved crossover success in the pop realm, she continues to promote and sing the kind of country music she grew up with.
