I like it here
Sweet green escape
In the heart of steel
Tears giving growth
To trees that try to hide
What we tackle inside
What is right
Is the pain we feel
Knowing how hard it hurts
Proves we love
What is left
Is a beckoning of bells
Long hours wringing hands
Of time in shadow
The place
Both home and prison
Gated in and solely ours
With bars just wide enough
To let whispers of reality slip through
It isn't lawful to let smiles slip and fall
Though we curl up into a ball
At opposite ends of the hall
At the end of it all
The end are words that mean nothing
To us
Waiting to die again
One more day
In all this patient green
I like it here
Words that mean more to me
Than love
