The Ocelot
Oh how cute!!! The ocelot is a member of the cat family. They live in the southern part of the U.S. and in parts of South America. They live on the ground, but they often hunt in trees and are agile climbers. They can come in a variety of colors from reddish-gray to smokey pearl. Ocelots are hunted for their fur, even though there are laws against it. If they are caught at a young age, ocelots also make very good pets. The Ocelot is most often associated with the performer Greg Proops.

The Panther
The panther is a member of the cat family. They live throughout the United States and South America. In California (where I live) they can also be known as mountain lions, pumas, and cougars. Though they usually hunt at night panthers have been known to attack people (scary!) and livestock. Panthers are also often hunted for sport, and they are considered endangered in some parts of the United States. Panthers are also known for their loud, screaching cry, which some people compare to the scream of a woman. The panter is associated with the performer Wayne Brady.
*NOTE* The picture of the animal we adopted may not be a panther. I can find no account anywhere of all black panthers.

The Dinosaur
What kind of zoo has a dinosaur? Well ours does! As hopefully you all know, dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years. They lived during the Mesozoic Era, 240 to 65 million years ago. The name dinosaur, means "terrible lizard". They could be as big as 150 feet long, but some dinosaurs were all small as a chicken. Dinosaurs were both plant and meat eaters. Some common dinosaurs include, the Stegosaurs, Triceratops, Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex, and the Velociraptor. The dinosaur is often associated with the performer Colin Mochrie, because of the funny dinosaur impressions he does.

The Giraffe
The Giraffe is the tallest of all animals. They can grow to be 18 feet tall. They live in Africa, south of the Sahara. They feed of leaves, twigs, and fruit from trees. giraffe. A giraffe's coat has patchlike markings of tawny (light brownish-yellow) to chestnut-brown. The lines that separate the patches are lighter tawny or white. This color pattern helps protect giraffes by making them hard to see when they stand among trees. Each individual giraffe has its own distinct coat pattern. Giraffes can close their nostrils completely (cool!) to keep out dust and sand. They also have long necks which can help them eat food high in trees. The giraffe is most often associated with the performer Ryan Stiles, because, well he looks kind of like one.
