September 20 - For the first time since 1996 the Greenville Panthers defeated Webster University in a thrilling 4 set match on Saturday 30-24, 30-24, 19-30, 30-18.  "The girls have never played so focused and determined in my 7 years with Greenville," praised head coach  Tom Ackerman. "We played like a team in every sense of the word - unselfish plays and putting others first throughout the match.  Kelly Kepley and Julie Kaufmann were unstoppable." 

Greenville wasted little time getting started in game one as they pounded away on Webster finishing the game with 20 kills and just 3 hitting errors in the 30-24 win.  Kelly Kepley and Julie Kaufmann continued to lead the offensive attack in the second game as Greenville continued to put balls away and stifle the Webster offense with outstanding defense en route to another 30-24 win.  

The only low point of the night game in game three as Greenville fell behind and was unable to make up ground falling 19-30, however they were on track once again in the fourth and final set and won going away by a score of 30-18.  Julie Kaufmann was outstanding all night leading the Panther attack with 17 kills and a .382 hitting percentage.  Kaufmann also tallied 12 digs on defense and had 5 solo blocks.  Michea McKay banged out 15 kills and had 15 digs, while Kelly Kepley had a season-high 14 kills on just 30 attempts.  Megan Vandiver added 10 kills and Heidi Woods finished with 9 kills. Kelsey McPeak led all defenders with 17 digs.  

The win boosted G.C.'s record to 4-4 (2-0 in conference).  Greenville will travel to Elsah, Illinois Tuesday night to take on the 6-5 (2-2 in conference) Principia College Panthers.
