October 29 - Greenville's seven-game win streak in conference play came to an end on Wednesday night as the Lady Panthers fell to SLIAC leader Fontbonne in three sets: 30-28, 30-23, 30-20. Fontbonne, who came into the match a perfect 11-0 in conference play had to fight hard to take the first set 30-28, and was then able to pull away in sets two and three for the straight-set win.

"We fought until the last point, but still fell short," praised head coach Tom Ackerman. "Against a much taller and more powerful team like Fontbonne we have to play error-free to win, and we almost did."

Fontbonne moved their conference mark to 12-0, while Greenville dropped to 8-3 in SLIAC play. G.C. remains in second place, one game ahead of Webster University who is currently 7-4. Greenville returns home Saturday for a match against Blackburn, and hosts Maryville on Tuesday, November 4, before finishing the year at Westminter next Friday.
