ROSES AND POEMS

PARABLE OF THE ROSE

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.
He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought,
"How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?"
Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, it died.
So it is with many people.
Within every soul there is a rose.
The God-like qualities planted in us at birth growing amid the thorns of our faults.
Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us.
We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies.
We never realize our potential.
Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them.
One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others.
This is the characteristic of love--to look at a person and know their true faults.
Accepting that person into your life, while recognizing the nobility in their soul.
Help them to realize that they can overcome their faults.
If we show them the rose, they will conquer their thorns.
Only then will they blossom many times over..

Pretty Pink

Scatter seeds of kindness everywhere you go.
Scatter bits of courtesy.
Watch them grow and grow.
Gather buds of friendship,
Keep them till full-blown,
You will find more happiness than you have ever known.

Very Beautiful

A life filled with love must have some thorns, but a life empty of love will have no roses.

Illuminated Perfect Rose

A rose has always been the
perfect metaphor for beauty.

Thoughout time it has expressed emotions
when words have been found wanting-
joy and sorrow, love and passion.

A bloom whose transient beauty
has never failed to enthral.

Pretty In Pink

Your neighbor, sir, whose roses you admire, is glad indeed to know that they inspire.
Within your breast a feeling quite as fine.
As felt by him who owns and tends the vine.
That those fair flowers should give my neighbors joy swells my own, and draws there from alloy.
Which would lessen it's full worth, did I not know that others pleasure in the flowers grow.
Friend, from my neighbors and this vine I've learned that sharing pleasure means a profit turned;
And he who shares the joy in what he's grown.
Spreads joy abroad and doubles all his own.

A Single Red Rose

A single red rose~in its purest form.
A single red rose~in which love is born.
A single red rose~with dew in the morn.
A single red rose~which is constantly worn.
A single red rose~signifies love.
A single red rose~created in Heaven above.
A single red rose~like a pure white dove.
A single red rose~not quite enough.
A single red rose~I'm sending you.
A single red rose~for all you do.
A single red rose~does it seem too few?
A single red rose~says I LOVE YOU!

A Blue Rose

A blue rose whose beauty the dream realm knows,
Of no earthly manifestation descreetly kept,
Of more value unrevealed from nature's miracle.
The rare, the precious perfection,
quintessence of love of two.
The fair lady with her vessel of bounty and giving,
The suitor with his staff of enterprise and sustainment.
To hold gently nurturing with tender touch,
The cherished thoughts they create in fragrance and feel,
Magical, from pink to violet to blue.

For The Love Of Roses

When God made Roses, He had us all in mind.
God took all the colors of the rainbow and made the Rose.
When I look at a Rose, I think of a love so fine.
I think of a beautiful summers eve.
The Rose is a flower that stands among the Lilys.
For they remind me of the Lord you see.
The Rose is among all who have loved;
The Rose is among all who have forgiven. Is it no wonder God knew what he was doing when he made the Rose.
So to all have a Rose and feel the power of its love.

A Beautiful Table Setting

There is nothing more beautiful on a table then roses.
Roses make any table setting that much more beautiful.
So if you want to make your table setting more elegant and beautiful.
Just add roses!

A Dozen Roses

I got a dozen roses
From a friend the other day;
But I only have one left,
For I gave them all away.

I gave one to my sister,
Who to me is very dear,
In hopes that it will bring to her
A little floral cheer.

I took one to a friend
Who's not feeling very well:
The flower or the visit--
Which helped more I could not tell.

One went to a friend
I haven't known for very long
She struggles, so in some small way,
I hope this helps her carry on.

The rest went to the ones
Who've helped me in so many ways;
They have been a cheerful presence
On my dreary days.

The roses were so pretty
I just could not keep them all
Except one single bud standing
Beautiful and tall.

My friend gave me the flowers
To help brighten up my day,
But the biggest joy I received,
Was giving them away.

A Rose And A woman

What do roses and women have in common?
They both smell wonderful.
They both feel very soft.
They are both very beautiful.
They both can hurt you if not careful.
And they are both very easy to love.
