Billie Joe Armstrong: guitar/vocals

Billie Joe Armstrong was born February 17, 1972. He was the youngest and wildest of six children. Billie got his first experience of performing at the of age five when he would sing for patients at hospitals. His father was a truck driver and a jazz musician. He tragically died of cancer when Billie was only ten. But before he died, he bought Billie a guitar from a swapmeet that is now known as Blue. Billie sez that he still can't read music, and he only knows how to play three chords. When Billie was 10, he met Mike in the cafeteria at his school. They started talking about music, and became best friends right away. When Billie and Mike were in high school, they formed a band called Sweet Children, That released a couple records on Skene Records. But since a lot of people made fun of the name Sweet Children, they changed there name to Green Day. Then they signed to Lookout Records, and released a record called 1,000 Hours. Then they released a record called Slappy. Then they made a record/cd called 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, which had songs from both, the 1,000 Hours and Slappy records, plus more. After 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours was recorded, there drummer Al had left to college, and Green Day was without a drummer. But then they met Tre Cool (Frank Edwin Write the third) former Lookouts drummer, and decided he would be there drummer. In 1994, Billie asked Adrienne, a girl he met in Minneapolis in 1990, to marry him, and she sed yes. The day after there wedding, they found out Adrienne was pregnant, and in 1995, there first son Joey Armstrong was born. Then in 1998, they had a second child named Jacob Danger Armstrong. In 1999, Billie became co owner of Adeline Records, which has recorded bands like his side band Pinhead Gunpowder, Mike's side band The Frustrators, The Criminals, Afi, and One Man Army.

Mike Dirnt: Real name is Michael Pritchard, bass, vocals

Mike was born on May 4, 1972. His natural mother was a heroin addict who gave him up for adoption.He was adopted by a native American woman and her white husband. They split up when Mike was 7 years old. At first he lived with his father, later his mother. Then his mom remarried some dude, and he became Mike's stepdad. They didn't get along for a long time, but when Mike went to high school, and his mom moved away, they got real close. But he died when Mike was only 17. When he was ten, Mike met Billie Joe  in their school cafeteria one day. Both had a mutual desire to play. Then they started Sweet Children. Mike married his girlfriend Anastasia in  1996. Then  they had a daughter named Estelle-Desiree born in  1997. Mike and Anasasia's marriage couldn't withstand the success and pressures of Green Day. Mike says he is still very good friends with her, and calls his daughter his "hero".

Tre Cool: Real name Frank Edwin Wright the third, drums

Tre was born on December 9, 1972. His father was a former Vietnam War helicopter pilot working as a truck driver. At the age of 12 Tre met a neighbor who just happened to be 30-year old punk vocalist Lawrence Livermore. When Livermore's band the Lookout's was in need of a drummer, the singer invited Frank to join the band. He then gave him the name Tre Cool. When the Lookout's recorded their album, the first release on Lookout! Records in 1986, 12 year old Tre was there behind the drum kit. When he reached his sophomore year, at high school in Mendocino, Tre Cool was class president. Tre didn't want to waste his time with school so he sat and passed a graduate equivalency exam. He wanted to focus on music. Tre had known Green Day for some time from the Gilman Street scene. He had even helped out John Kiftmeyer with drum situition. So, when recording for Kerplunk! began in May 1991 and Green Day were without a drummer, Billie and Mike signed up Tre Cool. Green Day, as we know the band today, was born. Tre married Lisea Lyons 1995 and together they had a daughter, Ramona. Tre and Lisea are now divorced. Tre is known as the crazy and daring one. He is usually setting his drums on fire on stage.
