Ellipsis Points: At the End of a Sentence

If you omit part of a quotation at the end of a sentence, put a period after the part you do quote, followed by a space and then the three ellipsis points. Don't put any space between the period and the preceding word.

"Let go of that potato, you. . . ."

Notice that the period comes immediately after the final word, even though that word does not end the original sentence.
