![]() Visualizing the need of technical man power in the field of Electronics, the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications was started in the year 1986.A full-time undergraduate course of Bachelors of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is offered with an intake of 60 students. For providing higher technical education in the region, a part-time post graduate course in Electronics Engineering, of 3 year duration was introduced in 1992-1993.It has an intake of 10 students. To support students working in the industry, a part-time undergraduate course in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, was also begun with an intake of 30 students. Our alumni currently occupy prestigious positions in a variety of industries and laboratories and have exhibited excellent technical and leadership capabilities. Keeping in view the demands of the industry, the Department accordingly updates the curriculum. To introduce to the students, the latest happenings in the Electronics & Telecommunications industry, a technical forum called the 'TECHNOMEET' is annually organized. The 'TECHNOMEET' is a forum where eminent speakers and bigwigs from the industry are called to share their views on the latest trends in the industry. This technical forum is organized entirely by the students under the guidance of a professor. This activity thus, brings out organizational and leadership capabilities of students. The departmental students association is known as TEESA. TEESA also organizes other events like General Knowledge quizzes, Badminton competition etc. To sharpen technical skills and improve practical know-how , a variety of equipments are procured and attempts are made to periodically modernize the laboratories through various state and central Government schemes.
