The  Department of  Engineering Mathematics was  started from the  time of inception of the college in 1960.The earliest three branches available in the college were, 1)Civil Engineering 2) Mechanical Engineering 3)Electrical Engineering. For these three branches, the subject of Engineering Mathematics  was common for the First year students . The subject of Engineering Mathematics  was to be taken  up to Fifth semester as Engineering Mathematics -I, II, III, IV, & V. With the introduction of the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and Computer science & Engineering branches, Mathematics was common once again to the first year students. At present Mathematics subject is to be taken up to Fourth Semester only.

There are four papers of Engineering Mathematics for all the five branches and syllabus is  common to all. The syllabus is framed as per the guidelines laid down by the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada  University, Aurangabad and it is useful to the students to study  their engineering subjects easily, as it is very subject oriented..

The department  gives full guidance to students. It provides services to the Institution of Engineers. Students appearing for A.M.I.E. examination are also taught by the lecturers of the department. Various books have been written by the departmental faculty for F.E. and S.E. students.
