Back to the Basics - Search Engines...

"Traffic, Traffic, Traffic, SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME SOME TRAFFIC!!!" I bet you have said that at least once, and if you own a business, a hundred times, a thousand times or more. Whenever I'm doing research to find new and better ways to Promote a Website, a customer's or our own, I always come across various programs and ideas, which I have used, and they work. But there is one thing which works better then all the programs and ideas put together, which many seem to have forgotten, the Search Engines. The Search Engines are the only ones that bring you true traffic.

I have been on the Internet for over a year, and the number one way I do research is still through the Search Engines. There is no other way to truly find what you are looking for. Even if you have your business in a Mall, how high in the Search Engines that Mall is, determines on how much traffic will get to you.

There are two types of surfing on the Internet, one is through the Search Engines ( searching for a keyword, phrase, etc...) and the other is through surfing from one website to another via links. However, I am willing to bet my pig farm, that the second way of searching almost always starts with searching a Search Engine first.

There are a lot of programs and ideas out there that really do work, and when you come across one that sounds good, try it, it can only help you get more traffic. But we must always remember that the Search Engines are the Bread and Butter of the Internet. What more could you ask for other than a free service that lists your site, and brings traffic to you!

How do you get your business or website high on the Search Engines? With much persistence! We, at Mom's old-fashioned Website Promotion Co. & pig farm, have found out several secrets which are not mentioned in most Search Engine articles such as this one. Shall I reveal one to you?

Alright, but you must promise not to tell anyone! You must submit your site to the Search Engines CONTINUOUSLY!!! That is right, not just once every two months, not just once a month, but at least once every two weeks, or even better, once a week. I'm not just saying this because I own a website promotion company, I'm saying this because it is the truth. Most people are under the illusion that if your promote your website at least once, you will eventually get to the top of the Search Engines. Many others think that all you have to do is promote your website once in a while, and you will eventually get up there. There is a good and bad side to this way of thinking. If you think this way, then it is bad. You must correct this immediately if you want a stampede at your website. However, if your competition is thinking this way, that is a plus for you. This was one of the reasons we were able to promote one of our customer's website from #28,000 to #13 in six months. This is quite a feat when you consider that there are over 455 million websites on the Internet, and you are competing for position with them all.

When trying to promote your website to the Search Engines, you must have patience. It takes much time to get your website to the top. While you're promoting your website to the Search Engines on a regular basis, you can also try some of the other marketing programs and ideas to get your name out there. You must remember that once you have your website placed in the top two hundred, that you must continue to promote your site on a regular basis, or you will quickly slide down the chart.

The Search Engines are your surest bet for a stampede of traffic to your website!
