Its a little known fact that the Pilgrim Fathers first set out from Boston, Lincolnshire - I kid yee not. For this reason, a memorial at the site was erected back in the 1950s on the banks of The Haven. Significant picnic facilities are avaliable, some six tables or benches I believe. Plus there's a nice pond and the lovely river itself. Well worth a visit.
A bit further a long the river is another area to stop. There is a particularly extensive car park (in relative terms) which wasn't actually empty when we got there. No there was some strange bloke in his car who proceeded to drive off as soon as we'd parked.
