YUKISHIRO ENISHI
NAME: Yukishiro Enishi

MOTTO: He doesn't really have a set phrase or anything, but "jinchuu" in itself is kind of a motto... a playoff of "tenchu" (meaning "divine justice"). A rough translation of "jinchuu" might mean that man will take justice into his hands if God will not.

INTRO: Yukishiro Enishi is Himura Tomoe's younger brother. Because the Jinchuu Arc of the manga was not animated, he is not in the television series, though he appears in OAV III and IV. His hair, once black, is now silvery, due to the shock of witnessing his sister's death (at the hands of Hitokiri Battousai). He is a mafia leader, and lived in Shanghai for much of the Meiji era. However, he returns to Japan to take revenge on Kenshin for killing his sister ten years ago. (A little obsessed?) He gathers together a group, naming them the "comrades", and they will all take part in revenge. The comrades consist of five other people who hold grudges against the Battousai. Enishi is a great villian, better than Shishio, in my opinion. The Jinchuu Arc is much more personal and much darker than the Kyoto Arc (again, in my opinion). Enishi has more personal problems with Kenshin than Shishio ever had, so this arc hits home more.

FIGHTING STYLE: Garyou Wattoujutsu (self-styled wattoujutsu) and Kyokeimyaku. As Kenshin fights as the dragon (with hiten mitsurugi-ryu), Enishi fights as the tiger. His skill as a swordsman is demonstrated most powerfully when he defeats Kenshin's undefeatable Amakakeru ryu no hirameki (the succession technique).
