A funny thing happened the other night.

I was on IRC (as I often am now, I think it's something to do with escaping from my upcoming exa*s) and two individuals started insulting me in rather ungentlemanly fashion. I checked up on them out of curiosity and discovered they were on the channel #satan. On a whim, I followed them into the channel and asked the people there if any of them knew the basis of satanism. My immediate response was "you trying to cause trouble ah". And a whole lot of hostility. A few of the members then attempted to explain to me what satanism was all about. Apparently it's something they choose. Why? Because it's bad. So... why? Ok you're making trouble. Get ready to be kicked. So I asked them why follow satan then. Because it's bad. Because there are no rules. So? Being agnostic has no rules... (that's when I got kicked out for good.)

So I wandered into #christians to see how they would fare; whether it was our people as a whole who chose their religions out of ignorance, or whether it was just the satanists. Instead of hostility, I was greeted with warmth. Most if not all in the channel spoke of Jesus dying for our sins, and redemption, and Grace. Completely unlike the satanists. I then told them about my little experiment, and how I was Christian as well. Their response to the people on #satan ? They prayed for them. They prayed that the satanists would be enlightened, and perhaps saved.

I thought I was witnessing a mini miracle.

(in other news. I suspect I have the teeniest crush......)
