"Why O Why?"

I watch the clouds go sailing by, and wonder ever why, oh, why?
I listen to the breeze when she sings, and feel her in my hair.
I understand naught why I stand, listening and waiting for a chance, maybe it was so, when the
world first began;
but I don't want to stand, and the world go flying by, as I wonder ever why, oh, why? I catch the rain in the Spring and drink it knowing, that in
the Summer down the road, it'll be dry as ever I wonder, why, oh, why?
Why must I just stand by, and the world flys on without me? I watch the Sun in her fiery glory and wish to the Moon as he comes in the middle of June.
But still I must stand here and ever wonder, why, oh, why?
I have one wish, that's to be free, free of the earth that homes me in, free to fly with the world as ever it is changing!
I feel the wind sing harder, and the Sun sinks her fiery eyes,
and Moon awakes and watchs all; then I feel the ground begin to shake with the sound of many feet;
there beyond the hills there comes an evil force so veil,
but can only stand and watch as they bring there evil minds towards me and my kindred.
O, why, O, why? Can I only stand as their axes cut me and my family?
Why can I do naught as they destroy us all?
Why was I cursed to simply stand and watch the world fly by?
Why must I die a painful death?
Why was I made with roots and leaves, and bark and wood?
Why couldn't I have arms and feet, to fight my way free?
