| We are sitting on the top level of The Cheif Alternative Music Hall during Hallowfest 2002. Denver's own Funny, Friendly, Stoned and Insanely Talented band,TRiP|CAGE, has just finished an awesome set. | Melissa: Tell us about your band, a brief history? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| TRiP|CAGE: "Well, we had all been hanging out since late 2001, except Stone. We had alot of music written, andthen Stone joined in March 2002." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Melissa: For being together such a short amount of time, the music sounds very polished. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Stone: "We're all polished musicians. We have all come from other local bands. I was in a band out of Fort Collins called "Niche", Mytch came from a band called "Urzine", and his dad played bass, and Mike and Mikey are former members of "4 Head Scream." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Melissa: Why the name "TRiP|CAGE?" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mike: "We came up with the word Cage, and then Mikeys roommate came up with Trip, and we thought it sounded cool together. We liked it right away." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mytch: "You liked it right away. It took about three months for it to grow on the rest of us." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Stone: "It could mean something different to everyone, but the way I think about it, life is a trip. All the stuff you have to go through, and there is nothing else but that, so it's like a cage... TRiP|CAGE." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Melissa: What motivates you to play the music that you do? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Stone: "The life I've lived. I'm from a small town in Kansas, and everyone always talks about how boring life is, and never does anything to change it. That's why I live like I do, and I want to tell people about it. If I can sing about it, I can over come it" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mikey: "Playing, It gives me a rush." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
