“So, would one of you mind explaining what the hell has been going on?” Hammond demanded, looking first at O’Neill and then Siler as they sat quietly at the other end of the table.
“Well Sir, it’s a long story....” O’Neill began, noticing that the others seated at the table were studiously avoiding looking at each other. “Wonder what happened while we were away?” he thought before continuing out loud “...I suppose it starts with the device we brought back from J3R-61A. It appears the device was made by one of the four “great races” as Jackson calls them. The race in question is the Ferlings and they appear to be a race of women, rather mischievous women. They visit a planet, mingle with the population and then set up the devise to make anyone within the vicinity...” he paused, unable to think of an appropriate term to use.
“LIBIDINOUS!” chorused Sam and Janet together, causing the remaining men to squirm with embarrassment.
“Apparently so” Siler remarked quietly before continuing where O’Neill had finished. “They then insinuate themselves in with male members of the populous and use them to gather the genetic material they need to reproduce. Once they have what they need, they leave and take the device with them, leaving they people of the planet to come up with their own explanations for their strange behaviour” he finished, taking a deep breath as he settled back into his chair.
“So we brought this on ourselves by retrieving the device?” Sam asked, her gaze carefully focused on O’Neill and Siler.
“It appears so. However Wyneth, the Ferling I spoke with, gave me a small shielding device and instructions on how to de-activate the device in Siler’s workshop. As soon as we came back through the gate, we deactivated the device and.....” O’Neill left the conclusion hanging in the air for everyone to grasp on their own. He noticed that more than one person at the table appeared to be blushing and his interest was piqued as to what exactly had happened while the two of them had been gone.
“Did you both get one of those shielding devices?” Sam asked, ever the scientist.
“Yep. They’re both with the device, in Siler’s office” O’Neill confirmed.
“Well, Area 51 is gonna want a look at them. If we tell them there’s only one, we’ll be able to study the other ourselves and see what we can find out about it” she finished, unwilling to let
others have all the fun.
“Quite correct Major. We will be keeping one here to study ourselves and handing the other, along with the main device, over to the Area 51 facility. For now though, I suggest everyone get some rest as normal duty resumes at 0600 hours tomorrow. Col. O’Neill, Sgt. Siler, I’ll need a full report from both of you as soon as possible as I need to prepare a memo for everyone to explain the strange behaviour over the last couple of days. Dismissed” Hammond told them, turning on his heel and marching into his office.
“Hey guys, did I miss anything during my visit to Katherine and Earnest?” came a voice from the door, causing O’Neill to spin towards the newcomer. A small sigh escaped his lips as he recognised Daniel Jackson entering the room, a confused expression on his face.
“Not a thing Danny boy, not a thing” the older man informed him as he made his way from the room.
“What’s up with him?” Daniel asked once O’Neill had left the room. He turned towards the others when he received no answer, stunned to find the room empty. Unable to comprehend the strange behaviour, he shrugged and made his way to his quarters to stow his gear.

“So, what did you do during our little exercise in unrestrained behaviour?” Sam asked Janet as the two of the sat quietly in the canteen, each eating a large slice of chocolate cake. “Or should I say who?”
“Definitely who!” Janet laughed, still very embarrassed by her own behaviour and startling sexual appetite. “Well, first there was your father....”
“What?!” Sam demanded, unable to believe her father would, or could, have done anything inappropriate.
“He’s definitely in amazing shape for a man of his age” was the only elaboration Janet would make on that particular encounter.
“I don’t think I want to know. So who else?” Sam asked, glad Janet was keeping that piece of information to herself.
“Looks like we’re not the only ones who got up to things we shouldn’t have” Janet remarked, nodded towards a small group of guys shuffling towards the door with their heads down.
“Of course we’re not the only ones. The device affected everyone within the base. But you didn’t answer may question Janet. Who else?” Sam told her, noticing the rapid change of subject and determined not to let her friend wriggle out of confessing everything.
“Well, there was Col. Cromwell. He found me making my way back to the infirmary and we kinda went for it on the floor in one of the elevators. And then there was General Hammond...” the doctor continued, pausing as Sam burst out laughing and looked at her amazed.
“Hammond?” Sam repeated.
“Yep. And boy, what a ride!” Janet told her, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth as she remembered just how wild it had been.
“Hammond?” Sam said again.
“Sam you wouldn’t believe what an animal that man is in the sack, or should I say over his desk...” Janet confided, causing them both to collapse in fits of uncontrollable giggles. “So what about you?”
“Well, there was Teal’c. Over a rifle rack in the weapons lock-up....” Sam admitted. “And yes, everything they say about him is true, and then some!”
“No! Really?” Janet asked, intrigued.
“Yeah. And there was that young lad, Captain Allen. He wasn’t bad, though he’s still got a bit to learn. He caught up with me in the control room and we gave the base computer an input overload” Sam told her, sending them into another round of giggles.
“Anyone else?” Janet asked, wondering whether Sam had matched her record of three.
“Weeeelllll.....there was Lt. Simmons....” Sam admitted, her lips curving into a smile as she remembered just how hot young Graham had made her in the shower.
“Graham Simmons? Well, come on. Tell” Janet begged, eager to hear how the lad had fared.
“He was so hot. He found me in the locker room, having a shower. God, that lad is certainly NOT a boy!” was the only explanation Sam would give for now, knowing full well that Janet would badger her until she told eventually. She’d give the doctor the whole sordid story at some point, just not yet.
“Look, there’s the guys. Is that chocolate cake they’re eating?” Janet said, looking over Sam’s shoulder towards the other end of the canteen. Sam turned to look and saw General Hammond, Col. O’Neill, Sgt. Siler, her father Jacob, Teal’c, Lt. Simmons, Col. Cromwell and Captain Allen huddled round a table, all devouring large wedges of the same chocolate cake the girls were just finishing.
“Looks like they’re having a ‘Chocolate Confession’ of their own” Sam confirmed, sending the two of them in giggles once more. “I wonder where Daniel is though? He’s not with the others” she mused quietly.
“Probably off playing with his own artefact” Janet replied with a shrug.

A single candle wavered slightly as Se’ren glided past it as she made her way to the circle of women sat at the other end of the room, causing shadows to dance across the walls in her wake. She seated herself beside her sister, Wyneth, and closed her eyes as a young girl passed her an intricately wrought silver goblet. Se’ren took a small sip and passed it to her sister, who repeated the gesture and handed the goblet back to the girl. Her full lips curved into a sensuous smile as she caught her sister’s gaze and held it for a moment before turning to the others.
“Did everything go as planned Se’ren?” asked the blonde woman seated opposite her.
“It did. We have procured what we needed and also allowed the humans to see we can be valuable allies to them Issa” Se’ren answered, seeing the smile spread across her sister’s face.
“And what did the two of you give them in return for their assistance?” asked the older woman sat to Issa’s left.
“Apart from a fantastic time?” Wyneth muttered at Se’ren’s side.
“The shielding device Kerel. We also showed them how to use the device they recovered” she replied, nudging her sister in the ribs with her elbow to keep her quiet.
“Anything else?” Kerel asked, seeing the motion and smiling at it.
“Nothing” Se’ren answered, her tone hard as she stared down the older woman.
“Forgive my impudence Se’ren. I meant no offence, nor did I mean to cast doubt on your truthfulness” Kerel said, bowing her head in a gesture of submission.
“I hope that is true Daughter. I would hate to have to put you through the Om-Dyi, for it would cause me much sadness to see you suffer the agonies it inflicts” Se’ren told her, her tone leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that she would do as she had threatened if she deemed it necessary. She saw Kerel blanche, the colour draining from her face at the mention of Om-Dyi, and fought to hide a smile as the other women were reminded of her seniority.
“I beg your forgiveness for my interruption Se’ren, but what happens if they try to use the shielding device against us?” asked the young girl who had passed her the goblet.
“They are unable to shield from us Lyna” Se’ren answered, turning her gaze fully upon the girl. “How old are you now child?” she asked, watching closely as Lyna blushed and dropped her gaze from that of her leader.
“I am now 100 Se’ren” the girl whispered, embarrassed by the attention focused on her.
“Really? The time has flown then, for it seems but a moment since you were born” Se’ren told her, a wry smile on her face as she held out her hand to the girl. “Come, sit by me child. It is time you learned more of the devices we use, and why we use them” she finished, draping her arm round the girl’s shoulders as Lyna seated herself at Se’ren’s side. “The devices we use stimulate the reproductive urges of the species we choose. The result is a willingness to copulate with us, which in turn allows us to procure the genetic material we ourselves need to reproduce. Once we have what we need, we leave and do not visit the same planet again for at least 5 of their generations” the leader told her young charge.
“But the humans have two of the shielding devices. What’s to stop them from just shielding against us?” Lyna asked, still unsure about her leaders reasons for giving away such valuable technology that could make Earth a planet they would be unable to visit.
“Because we’re the only ones who can remotely de-activate the shields. And the humans believe that the shields are impenetrable. They have no idea the shields are useless against us” she finished with a smile, turning to wink slightly at her sister.
