| Capt. Highsmith's company of mounted volunteers was called into service on the 12th day of May 1832. The company was formed in Crawford county Illinois, by the order of the Commander-In-Chief of the Militia of the State of Illinois. Highsmith's Company was attached to the 2nd regiment, 2nd Brigade under the command of Brig. General Milton K. Alexander. |
