In the name of God amen, the sixteenth day of May, [Annsq] D ain 1698 I, Walter Reeve, of the County of Burlington & Province of New West Jersey, yeoman, being weak in body, but sound & ____ mind & memory, the lords name be praised therefore knowing the shortness and uncertainty of this my transitory life, and being therefore desirous to sett- my house in order, as concerning my worldly Estate which the lord of his mercy hath bestowed upon me, Do therefore _____ to make & ordain this my last Will & testament in manner and form following. First chiefly, I bequeath my soul into the protections of my God that gave it, & my body to the earthe from whence it came, to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix here after to be nominate. my will and mind is that all such just deb[ts] are due and owing from me to any person _______ be paid and discharged forth of my goods & __________ my Executrix. Item, I give and bequeath ____ Anne - my wife, the house and ________ whereon I now dwell, with all the ________ and appurtenances thereunto belonging _______ to [hold] the same to her ___________________ and immediately after her death ________ give b____ of her _____y by me begotten or to __________ forever. Pursuant to a deed of gift by me, _________ my hand & seal bearing date the five and ______ day of December, Anno 1690. Item, I [give and bequeath] unto my son John Reeve1 one shilling receives in full satisfaction of his child.s part and [portion]. Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter [Susanna][h]1 five shillings. Item, I give and bequeath to my son William one hundred and sixty acres of that tract of Land purchased of George Hutchinson lying northwest or thereabouts of my now dwelling house by the creek side. Item, I give and bequeath to my son Joseph all that ___ hundred acres of land lately purchased of Peter Dale & most commonly called by the name of Pine ______, adjoining the land of (formerly) Abigail Perkins now Abigail Rapier. Item, I give and bequeath to Anne my loving wife all the rest of my goods & chattels to be equally by her divided amongst all my children, gotten or to begotten upon the body of Anne my said wife ____ shall attain to the age expectively of one & twenty years. And, lastly, I do hereby nominate, ordain & make my said living wife Anne sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, & hereby disannul & make void all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made, willed & declared & do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness where of. I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. June 18th 1698 then came Anne Reeves (Executrix above named) & proved the last Will and testament of Walter Reeves, being above written, at the house of Thomas Revell, in Burlington in the Province above before us, John Latham, Nath.l Westland. ----- Thô Revell Lee ______ arrived & agrees with the original.
