"Funeral Tomorrow For William Thompson

Funeral services for William Thompson, 82, of the Green Lawn Rest Home in Galena, who died at 12:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon, will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Jordan funeral home with the Rev. Clayton Pittman officiating. Mr. Thompson died at the St. John's hospital in Joplin where he had been a patient since the middle of December.
Born Feb. 3, 1875, in England, Mr. Thompson moved to America with his parents at the age of six, and settled in Ohio. In 1891, the family moved to Frontenac, and later to Mineral. Mr. Thompson moved to Columbus in 1939 and the last few years he had made his home at the rest home in Galena. Mr. Thompson was a retired deep shaft coal miner.
Surviving is a brother, J. C. Thompson, of Kansas City, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Cherokee cemetery.".
