GWA
ARCHIVE
NOVEMBER 2001, VOLUME 0, ISSUE 1
Welcome
to the 1st edition of the GWA Archive!!! My name is Jerry “The Boss” Bueker
and I’ll catch you up on all the happenings in the November cycle!! We here
at the GWA strive to make this the most exciting pbm wrestling game. We understand
to achieve this, that our managers MUST play an active part in the game, and
how it is designed. That means continuous feedback, ideas, etc. to make this
game as enjoyable as possible. So if you have any brainstorms, put it on paper
and submit it with your matches. We will entertain all ideas!!!
A few new ideas and changes have occurred in the GWA. As more and more managers
join the GWA, more and more contests will be created, as well as more leagues
will be formed. We have plans to implement the SOUTH division which already
has the GML. A few more leagues will be created to form the SOUTH division.
Once activity rises, we plan to also have an EAST and WEST division. But all
of this is proportional to our manager interests!! So get the word out about
the GWA!!!
One major change this cycle is the implementation of ALL leagues
being a cash league!!! There will be both “special” cash leagues and “regular”
cash leagues. The “special” cash leagues award $50 to the league champion, and
require a $5 minimum to be eligible for this. Examples of these leagues are
the PBL, HTL, and the newly formed GML. All other leagues will reward $25 for
the league champion, with the minimum payment remaining at $3!!!
We hope this accommodates ALL of our managers and raises the level of competition!!
As more and more leagues form, and more managers join, we plan on rewarding
monetary awards to MAJOR cycle winners as well (i.e. Cycle World Champion, etc).
So once again, spread the word about the GWA!!!
Finally, each cycle we will have a space for manager input on certain issues.
You will always find this under the introduction to the archive!! The first
issue at hand is the way the tag and 6-man system is set up. We want input from
you, the GWA managers, on your thoughts about which system is better. The current
system uses wrestler #1s hold values for slots #1,3,5,7,9,11,13 (as explained
in the GWA handbook). Wrestler #2s hold values are used in slots #2,4,6,8,10,12,
with the highest finishing hold of the team being used as the 14th. This system
COULD possibly yield a tag strat that COULD be lower than your individual strats!!
So it is possible for wrestler #1 to have a 470, wrestler #2 to have a 475 and
their tag strat to total 468!!! 6-Man is figured much the same way, using the
idea of a tag team then the third wrestler using the highest of all holds as
compared to the tag strats (as explained in the GWA handbook).
The other system we are looking at, which may be more beneficial, is setting
the tag teams where the highest hold value between either team member is used
in that slot. So instead of using wrestler #1 for odd slots and #2 for even
slots, we simply compare the strats and use the higher of the two holds!!! This
would ensure that your tag strat would NEVER be lower than a member of the tag
team!! The same idea is then held true for the 6-man matches!!!
So on your match selection sheet, or on a separate sheet of paper, please write
in and tell us which system you want to use!! We will go with the majority on
this issue so speak up!!! We will NOT implement the new policy until it is mentioned
in the GWA Archive!! Please give us feedback on this issue and any other issues
that you feel need addressed. As you can see, this game is very manager interactive!!!
NEXT CYCLE: More issues and a look at upcoming “special” leagues and
contests!!! Good luck this cycle and those to come. Enjoy!!!
GWA
NOV. CYCLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
“Welcome to the first ever match for the coveted GWA World Championship!!! What
makes this match exciting is the fact that no one can ever say that they were
involved in the FIRST match for this awesome championship; except these two
very powerful individuals!!! I’m Jerry “The Boss” Bueker and I will be your
commentator for this match. Let’s get down to ringside for the introductions
of our two superstars!!!”
RING ANNOUNCER: “This match is scheduled for one fall. Making
his way to the ring, welcome from the mighty NBK stable and current PBL league
champion, The Dark Messiah!!”
(The Dark Messiah’s music blares over the PA system as he accompanied by
cheers and boos from the sold out crowd here at The Assembly hall in Champaign,
Illinois)
“And his challenger, also representing the NBK stable, the current HTL league
champion, Solid Snake!!”
(Solid Snake runs to the ring accompanied by his music. He slides into the
ring and offers a handshake to his manager who successfully brought him into
this exciting match)
JERRY “THE BOSS” BUEKER: It’s good to see two stablemates go head
to head for the head cheese!! It makes for exciting spine-chilling action as
controversies and other possibilities are always abound!! Lets get down to the
action!!
(0:00) Snake and Messiah lock arms in middle of the ring, an evident
test of strength by both individuals!! Great competition as Snake seems to have
the early advantage..but WAIT…Messiah is coming back and is forcing Snake down
to one knee…KICK to the midsection as Snake falls to the canvas. So much for
stablemates!! Messiah grabs a handful of hair and whips Snake into the ropes,
a Lariat!!! Snake lands hard onto the canvas!! What’s this? Messiah goes for
a nearby chair….the ref is turned..SMACK!!!..right across the head of Snake.
Messiah goes for an early pin..ONE…TWO..THR… Kick out!!! Oh man was that close.
Messiah clutches Snake by the arm and rolls his arm over. Kick in the abdomen!!
Messiah has come out here as the stronger of the two stablemates. Snake reverses
a toss into the turnbuckle….he runs hard at Messiah…Messiah jumps out of the
way and Snake hammers head first into the turnbuckle!!! Messiah grabs the ailing
Snake…whats this?? A half nelson slam!!! Oh man, that had to hurt. Looks as
if the head of Snake slammed hard into the canvas. Messiah rolls him over and
motions for the figure four..NO!! Snake quickly rolls over and slams a boot
underneath the chin of Messiah!! Snake leaps to his feet and drills his partner
with a body tackle slamming Messiah to the canvas. With a handful of hair, Snake
props Messiah up..what’s this….SPINE BUSTER!!! Messiah falls to the mat in evident
pain….Snake to the top turnbuckle….MISSILE DROPKICK right in the chin!!! Messiah
spits blood as he hits the canvas hard!! Snake for the cover..ONE..TWO…Foot
on the rope!!! What an exciting match so far…
(8:23) Messiah took the early advantage but Snake has fought back
feriouscly and has really taken advantage of this match. A Sidewalk slam was
followed quickly by a snap suplex and Messiah lays prone in middle of the ring.
Snake crawls to the top turnbuckle…looking for the five star frog splash..off
the ropes…HE MISSES!!! Messiah brilliantly set him up and Snake is in evident
pain. Messiah gets to his feet…off the ropes…Cross Body Block!!! Snake goes
down into the canvas with Messiah on top of him. Messiah pulls him up and..OH
MY GOD!!! Swinging Neckbreaker!!! You can hear the neck pop as he delivered
that move with precision. Snake clutches his neck in evident pain. Messiah pulls
him up….AGAIN!!! Another NECKBREAKER!!! Snake is down and is hurting!!! Messiah
waves to the crowd..here comes his finisher, “The Fall From Grace”…NO!!! Snake
reverses it into a facebuster!!! Off the ropes…Guillotine Leg Drop on the adam’s
apple of Messiah. He clutches his neck for air. Snake pulls Messiah to his feet….eye
gouge followed by a karate chop in the chest. Messiah is down to one knee…
(14: 43) A brutal match that this has turned out to be!!! Just
when it looked like Snake had Messiah where he wanted him, Messiah slammed the
head of Snake into the pole and busted it wide open. Both stablemates are now
bleeding as the lay outside the ring!!! The ref is up to eight in his count.
Messiah slowly gets up and throws his stablemate back into the ring. Messiah
is clutching his arm which he hurt a little while ago. Messiah grabs Snake by
the arm and pulls him.up..BEAR HUG!!! He’s squeezing the life right out of him!!!
Man that has to take a toll so late in the match!!! Both men are battered and
bruised but they are showing heart!!! What’s this?? Snake elbowed Messiah on
the bridge of the nose busting it wide open!!! Messiah looks dazed and confused!!
Snake lines him up for a…CRUCIFIX!!! OH man,,that has got to hurt!! He’s looking
for a submission….NO!! Messiah breaks the hold..what strength…
(23:24) Snake is down on the canvas…off the top rope…Messiah lands
a perfect top rope splash!!! He pulls snake up and delivers a sideslam..followed
by a STUNNER!! Oh man, this is it….Messiah is waving his hand in the air….here
comes “The Fall From Grace”!!! OH MY GOD…..Snake has reversed it into his “Infiltration”…Messiah
is caught off guard….what’s this? Here comes two members from the PE stable
from the same PBL!!! They slam a chair over the head of Messiah and clobber
his stablemate Snake in the head as well…Both PE members stand strong in the
ring as they pull out a few tables…what are they doing?? Chokeslams through
the tables!!! Oh man…..one of the PE members, Grunge, is grabbing the mic…
“TDM, you wanted a war…you got a war..I bet you never saw this one coming!!!
Hope you and your hooligans enjoy this spotlight, because there are more ass
kickings where this came from!!”
(He throws the mic outside the ring and spits on the bloodied figures in
the ring. The crowd boos as the PE wrestlers exit the ring)
RING ANNOUNCER: “This match has ended in a draw..because of such
extensive circumstances, we will be forced…..”
(Solid Snake grabs the mic from the Ring Announcer and grabs a hold of the
World Belt)
SOLID SNAKE: “This championship belongs to the NBK stable….to
the better man….” (Snake offers his hand to The Dark Messiah) “You my
friend, are crowned the FIRST GWA WORLD CHAMPION!!!” (The crowd erupts in
cheers are both men exchange hand shakes and leave the match evidently beaten
and distraught fropm the sneak attack)
JERRY “THE BOSS” BUEKER: “Oh man, what a great way to start off
this new federation!!! Two stablemates coming together at the end…and just when
it looked like more trouble from within the stable, Solid Snake hands over the

Mo’
Money Champion
It is pretty evident by this cycle’s archive on who has achieved this award! Managing
his wrestlers to dominate the GWA first cycle earned “TDM” both the Mo’
Money Award as well as the stable to beat!! His NBK stable laid claim to every
major title that the GWA has to offer! Other managers also had a great showing
this cycle but was overshadowed by the domination of "TDM”. Let’s see if this
type of domination can be repeated or if it was just a “fluke”! Congratulations
to “TDM” on this cycle’s ASS kickings!!
Final
Thoughts
This
first GWA archive DID NOTinclude tag and 6-man ranks, cycle stable
ranks, overall stable ranks, overall manager ranks, and cycle manager ranks
because of the limitations of amounts of leagues as well as being the first
report. These items, and much more, will be included in upcoming archives! The
best way to make this archive truly exciting is to get the word out about how
fun the GWA is!!
Before we go, we here at the GWA would like to mention that you, the managers,
can register YOUR stable to us!! This comes at NO cost to you!! We must remind
you that for your stable to participate in the upcoming stable ranks, they MUSTbe
registered!! So the stable leader should register his or her stable and include
the stable members with it! It will be up to either the stable leader or participating
individuals to keep us informed on who has joined or left a certain stable.
Registering a stable ensures that NO ONE ELSEthat is NOTon
your list can use your stable name and initials!! So be prompt on getting us
your information. Just include this information with your match selection sheets!
We must also mention that the only way to participate in the future planned
stablecade is by having a registered stable!
We hope that you have enjoyed your first cycle in the GWA. We do promise to
keep up our end of the deal in producing top quality league bulletins that are
both competitive and fun!! We have a lot of great ideas which right now are
limited due to the “newness” of the game and the small amount of leagues. Remember
that comments, questions, stable registrations, etc. CANbe sent
to us through email! Visit our homepage at www.globalwrestlingalliance.netto
get our email addy and other pertinent information in the GWA!! Congratulations
to all the winners this cycle and good luck to ALLindividuals
on the cycle to come. We appreciate your business and determination to make
the GWA the best damn pbm wrestling game ever!!
