Stories of things that have happened to me

A mugging gone wrong

On the 7th of October 2001 I was on my way to Mac Donald’s in Wanneroo. I am the type of person who doesn't like being seen so I used some back streets then proceeded along the Wanneroo Primary School oval. I was only 30 seconds away from Macca's when three young teens of about 14 years of age came out of the school and headed towards me. They started saying things like "Look at this faggot" and others before they all stood in my way. One of them told me to give them my wallet; I refused by telling them to "Fuck off". Another one took a step forward then replied "Give us your wallet you gay homo or we'll bash you!” Once again I refused telling them "Whatever guys now move out of my way", that was when it happened. One of them pulled a water pistol out and squirted it at me, naturally I moved and the liquid went into my hair and on my face. I wiped it back into my hair thinking it was water until my eye started stinging. That was when I realized that it wasn't water but some chemical. As I rubbed my hair one of them pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit it up. He then quickly ran around behind me and through it against the back of my head. All of a sudden my hair lit up and I was stood there screaming and thrashing about as my hair was on fire. The three teens stood there laughing as I struggled to get the fire out. Once I finally managed to get the fire out I was really pissed off and the three guys where still stood in front of me laughing. I felt a sudden urge to make them pay for what they had done to me then I just let loose. I stepped forward and smacked the first guy in the head with a lunge punch. We went down and didn't move after that, the second guy who had the lighter stepped forward and kicked me in my left leg. I immediately retaliated by using a roundhouse kick to his left shin. I took another step towards him with the momentum behind me and tried to elbow him across the face, I missed by a few centimeters but quickly followed up with a hook punch to his temple. He went down and started to cry I think, the third guy started to run away as soon as I took my gaze off the second guy. Not knowing whether or not the third guy would be back with older brothers or whatever I jogged back home while watching to make sure I wasn't being followed. After this experience I recommend for everyone to learn some form of martial arts as it comes in handy in a sticky situation.
