This design was inspired by a silk satchel from Thailand. It fastens by threading the handle through the leather loop. It is completely reversible, providing two different looks (it's two bags in one!). At least one side also has a small pocket for a cell phone or other things that need to be easily accessible. The first image of the brown scheme shows two very similar bags turned opposite ways. The patterned bag looks like the other one on the inside.
