Deed Settlement
This being land conveyed from AMANDA BELL GARRISON to GRANVILLE ESTES, Feb. 18th, 1890 - recorded in Deed Book No. 8, page 62

This indenture made and entered into this June the 11, 1923 by and between
J. R. JANES and JULIA JANES his wife, and S. E. ESTES and DORA ESTES his wife, and J. C. ROE and MARY BELL ROE his wife, H. J. JESSIE and BETSY JESSIE his wife, and SAM ESTES and ESTER ESTES his wife, W. L. JANES and JOSIE JANES his wife, that whereas GRANVILL ESTES was once the owner of all the hereafter described lands died intestate leaving the above JULIA JANES , S. E. ESTES and MARY B. ROE and BETSY JESSEE and ESTER ESTES, JOCIE JANES his only heirs at law who by inheritance from the said GRANVILLE ESTES become the joint owners of said lands and desiring to divide same equally between themselves and allot to each other their equal part and to convey same to each lawful heir their full 1/6 share of the said lands made and entered into by and between the above named heirs which they desire to divide and convey to each their part the first hereinafter the first tract described below was allotted JULIA JANES and BETSY JESSEE. Said BETSY JESSEE conveyed her one sixth interest in the above lands to J. R. JANES and JULIA JANES his and her heirs and assigns forever with the covenant of General Warranty. Each of them have agreed to receive the following described tract as their fair share of the following described lands and relinquishing all the rights to the remainder of said lands first described tracts one and two to JULIA JANES and BETSY JESSEE No. 2 sold and conveyed to J. R. JANES are as follows (to-wit) Beginning at as near a stone west 25 1/4 poles to a stone corner, thence at 23 1/2 poles to a stone in ROBT. JANES line, thence W. 18 1/2 poles to a chestnut tree, thence West 18 1/4 poles to a stone in Bell Hunters line, thence N 18 poles to a stone, thence E. 22 poles to a stone, thence N. E. 4 3/4 poles to a stone, thence N. West 1 pole to a stone, thence N. E. 4 poles to a stone corner, thence N 2 3/4 to a stone, thence E 23/12 poles to a stone corner near a branch, thence down said branch S. 16 poles to a stone, thence south west 6 poles to a willow, thence S. 12 1/2 poles to the beginning relinquishing all rights and titles to each of the other said tracts. Now in consideration of the foregoing premises the said parties have sold and do by these presents alien and convey unto the said JULIA JANES and ROBT. JANES the above described tract of land lies in Adair County Ky. on the headwaters of Cases Fork Creek. To have and to hold the same with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging. Which we have hereunto subscribed our names. Given under our hands:
