Thank goodness Godzilla has gone back to Japan. I say that in only the most loving of terms. I grew up on Godzilla movies and loved everyone of them dubbing and all. Although I enjoyed the story of the great lizard that came to NY ... it was not my Godzilla.
And Now The Movie;
Shinoda, a leading expert on Godzilla leaves his University job to set up a "domestic network of Godzilla-related information". The goal; to predict Godzilla's next appearance and minimize the destruction it will cause.
Godzilla appears, of course-or no movie, duh- and destroys a power plant. Scientist speculate as to whether Godzilla is destroying power plants because he doesn't like man made power. Meanwhile back in the Japanese ocean a huge, 6000 year old , 200m in diameter meteor is found. While scientists try to salvage it the meteor floats to the surface.
If I tell you more you will know the whole story but let me say it is Godzilla in the purest sense.
