Hollow Man

The special
effects were what made "Hollowman." I went to this movie expecting to
see cloths floating around or something equally as hokey like that
which, has been the norm in so many other "invisible" people kind of
movies. I am happy to report I was really impressed with the detail
they went into when showing the process of things appearing and
disappearing.
They did a
good job showing the presence of the invisible man (Kevin Bacon) with
out to many corny floating objects. Rather he might show up as a
distortion in water, or smoke that reminded me of the liquid alloy
cop in Terminator ll.
I really give
credit to the actors who had to deal with looking like they were
fighting something they couldn't see and we all know really wasn't
even there.
I also give
credit to Bacon in his portrayal of a bad guy, which as all Kevin
Bacon fans know is not his normal role. After seeing him in movies
like "Footloose" or "The Air Up There" one might not think he could
pull off an insane and malicious character but he does and he does it
well.
I found the
packaging for this movie to be a little misleading. What I mean by
that is the shots used for the movie trailer. I feel the trailer
represents the movie in a "horror" kind of light when in fact it is
not. This movie does have a lot of suspense but it is unmistakably
sci-fi.
I recommend
going to see this movie but remember it is sci-fi not horror and you
will not be disappointed.
