Michel has starred in commercials for General Motors, Clorets, Shell, Diet Coke, Bell Canada and Loto-Québec. "A New Comic is Born", played to sold-out houses over 500 times in 1989; it earned him two "Felix" nominations. At the Just For Laughs Festival, Michel shared the stage with Bob Newhart, Tim Allen and Jim Carrey in a live Showtime TV special in 1990. The New Adventures of Michel Courtemanche", premiered in 1992. Close to a quarter-million people saw it as it travelled through France, Belgium and Switzerland. Converted into a homevideo, it sold over 100,000 units... and still counting. Michel filled the 2,700-seat Grand Rex in Paris 15 times in early 1995, becoming the first-ever humorist to ever play the renowned venue previously inhabited by the likes of Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Julien Clerc and other musical luminaries. Dargaud released a hardcover comic book based on Michel's stage show and exploits. It sold out its first printing in days. Recently, Michel Courtemanche took part in a 22-episode-series entitled "The Secret adventures of Jules Verne", Produced in Montreal with a $48-million budget (Can.) He portrays Passepartout the masterful valet of many talents. Currently directing "Camera Cafe" for TVA, Michel has many projects in the works. The voice of Shriner's Hospitals Canada, Michel often participates in fund raising events for the less fortunate.
