BROWN DOG BLARNEY 15 March 2001 |
Top o' the Mornin to you!! Here we are again, and just in time for the Wearing O the Green...I'll admit I've been pushing the Curly Man pretty hard lately, but you must admit--pressure makes diamonds. I wanted to get this page online quickly for obvious reasons--I don't think many people realize that, while my heritage is quite diverse, there is definitely some Irish Setter in my past. |
I thought the fireworks were a fun, and unlikely choice to celebrate the 17th of March. What do you think? Here's a pic of me outside Blarney Castle. I was born in the basement there, and spent my happy puppy years there...finally sneaking onto a boat for America, when I couldn't stand to eat another potato! |
Here's a pic I thought I'd destroyed...taken of me after a few green beers I enjoyed last year!! How embarrassing... ...still, I love everything about this holiday, from the Corned Beef and Cabbage to the Irish Soda Bread...and the music: Oh, how I love to howl a good mournful version of "Danny Boy"....it always makes me cry!! |

OK, being serious for a moment: Here's a little something I wanted to share with all my friends, both the Irish and the honorary Irish (like my Bald Guy, Owen...), to mark the special day!! Thanks for continuing to visit my websites!! |
AN IRISH SETTER'S BLESSING May the field rise to meet you. May the wind be always 'neath your tail. The sun shine warm upon your snout, The rains fall soft upon your run. And until we meet again, May God hold you on the soft pads of His Paw. |

To me, Saint Patrick's Day has always been a time to share some fun with special friends...so I was excited to find this old picture in my photo album, of me and some of the Old Gang, having lunch at Sardi's one day. I believe it was taken just before they asked us to leave. (I honestly have no idea what Garfield, Bill and Jean Kirkpatrick were up to in the Ladies Room, so don't ask me!!) |

I also wanted to share this picture of my uncle, Dewey James. We only met one time, and although we didn't get along too well...I did admire his spirit and attitude!! Last year, Uncle Dewey went on to the next of his nine lives, but I like to think he's keepin' his green eyes on us all!! |
