I'll Be There
    By Gen X

I feel like a fly on the wall. Or bird on a perch, just watching, reflective of my name. The city is dark but it's quiet. It's calm enough for me to be slacking and watching a lone figure through a window.

She's crying again. I don't want her to cry. She's far too beautiful to cry. Angry too, there goes her new cable wires. I should really go down to Bludhaven and get some answers for him. However, he's not my priority.

He doesn't have emerald eyes or fire for hair. He isn't cute and snappish and all around level headed. More importantly, he doesn't need a friend right now.

I climb in through her window, making just enough noise to let her know I'm there. She quickly wipes her tears on her already soaked sleeve.

"Need a friend?" I ask. Wishing it were more.

She nods mutely. She holds me and cries on my shoulder.

I reach up to peel off the domino mask that I've been hiding behind. This isn't the best time, it's not romantic but it'll do. She looks at me, the question is in her beautiful eyes.

"Tim," I answer. "My name is Tim."
