Davie Cooper sadly died on March 23rd 1995.
He was doing what he loved best , playing football , he was acctually teaching kids the game.
Whilst teaching the kids for a tv programme he was struck down with a fatal brain hemorrhage he was only 39.
Ive lost count how many times I saw the great man play but I remember the first day I ever saw the legend play .........
Playing for his beloved Glasgow Rangers ..I saw him , and at the time it was my first ever Rangers game , back in August 1987 , Rangers were talking on Falkirk in a league match which they won 4:0.
I remember when I first took to my seat looking onto the flush turf that was Ibrox and noticing Davie during the warm up , I was only 13 at the time , it was like a dream , having watched him on tv and then to see him live!! was just a magical experience.
Davie was so gifted , hid left foot was a pleasure to behold just to see him pass the ball , take on players with his deft passing ability and skill , I'll never forget that day.
Its such a sad time thinking back to the day he died , the guy was a legend to me and will always be part of my memories.
Below are a few pictures of the day he died , flowers were left on the gates of Ibrox stadium not just from Rangers fans but also from bitter rival's Celtic (just goes to show the influance his left foot had on fans all over the world).
Notice in the centre of the pic a green and white celtic shirt
