In My Opinion:

One:
If the local councils took more care of the look of the
community rather than holding expensive street parties,
then more people would visit their local shops more often.
Most footpaths at the front of strret shops are made
from ROAD TAR. Sometimes I do not know if
I am walking on the road or the path. Should a car
drive on the footpath, I would think I was at fault!
Two:
Street footpaths used to be made of cement/concrete.
More often I see these paths being replaced with
ROAD TAR. The problem with tar is that when it gets
hot, it becomes sticky. It sticks to your feet,
your shoes, and should you place any belongings onto
the path, it sticks to them.
When streetscape trees grow too much, their roots
uproot the tar. Sure, this happens with the cement/concrete
but not as easily. Tar also looks ugly. Tar stinks.
Tar is cancerous. Tar is not the look of the new
millenium.
