Ambassadors for Peace in Richmond, Virginia![]() ![]() ![]() "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God." Mt.5:9. To become a child of God, we must work for true and lasting peace. And, to work for peace, we must be able to love our enemies so that we can make them our brothers and sisters. Our local AFPs are also involved in deep studies of the principles of the Universal Peace Federation. There are five central points of the AFP program: 1) That God (known by many other names) is the Creator-Parent of all humankind and that His love flows to everyone irrespective of race, religion, nationality or culture. 2) Human beings are essentially spiritual in nature. 3) Marriage and family are sacred institutions for the stability and development of society as a whole. 4) To "live for the sake of others" is vital to accomplish lasting peace. And 5), Interreligious and International dialogue and cooperation are important to bridge the historical divide in our world.
