Fireballs in the MCC

In February 2000, the Russell Space Team presented with a full canister of that all important Mission Control consumable--the Atomic Fireball® (click here for more details).  During the STS-101 Space Shuttle mission to boost the International Space Station from its slowly decaying orbit, the Russell Fireballs remained at the FDO console in Mission Control, Johnson Space Center, Houston.

After the completion of this successful mission, the Fireball canister--now thoroughly depleted of its contents--was returned to the Russell Space Center with a letter of gratitude signed by the Flight Control Team and Astronaut Crew of STS-101.     Below is a scanned image of the letter and signatures sent to Russell Space Center.
