AUSTRALIAN Dave Griffiths and a fellow worker
stopping work as storm clouds gathered above on
Thursday afternoon.
The workers, from K2 Specialist Services, a
company that specialises in the cleaning of difficult
structures, were atop a building in the Tanjong Pagar
area and were among the first to witness the fury of
the storm that day.
The Ministry of the Environment said the heavy
rainfall coincided with a high tide of 2.8 m and caused
floods in areas like Braddell and Upper Thomson
roads.
A gauge at MacRitchie Reservoir recorded 166 mm
of rain over 1-1/2 hours.
